Biff (00:10)
Hello, everybody. Welcome to another week of Laugh Smartly. I'm your host, Biff. I'm looking at Lucky and Mr. Fun. The three of us are going to bring you a great show this week. It is a busy time. We are after Labor Day, so summer's over. Schools have started, although we don't well, you have kids in college, but they started before Labor Day. But everybody's in school now, which is interesting. And as traffic patterns are are changing everywhere around the around the area and the Delmarva.
but before we talk more about things going on, Mr. Fun, do you have a joke to start us off?
Mr Fun (00:44)
Well, I can you an interesting story. Today I was down in Annapolis. I went to this seafood restaurant. I'm not gonna tell you the name 'cause I'm a little uncomfortable with the conversation. They tried to bribe me. They said they wanted free advertisement on our podcast, in exchange for a free calamari. And I said no because I considered that squid pro quo. I didn't like the squid pro quo, they they said
Biff (01:06)
That's very good,
isn't it?
Lucky (01:09)
Did you get that from
idea from when all the squid fell on the highway?
Mr Fun (01:12)
I d
I did. I that's where that joke came from.
Biff (01:17)
I I will say,
Mr. Fun, I have s I have seen a boat with that name on the back, which is a which is a good name for
Lucky (01:24)
Squid Pro Quo.
Biff (01:25)
a boat. Squid Pro Quo. I believe it's
Lucky (01:28)
that's pretty good.
Biff (01:29)
you know Rob G from Saverna Park's friend. I believe that's his boat name is Squid Pro Quo. He he's a lawyer.
So that I think that is that is a
Mr Fun (01:37)
Octa
Octopi don't wear underwear because or they 'cause they don't have toilet paper because they're afraid of leaving squid marks on their toilet paper. On their underwear. Squid marks on their underwear. That's where it goes, yeah.
Biff (01:49)
Nice. Squid marks. Yeah. That
was Octopi leaving Squid Marks. I didn't know the things were that that that's what he said. The Octopi. Didn't do that. That's right.
Mr Fun (01:58)
You don't want to occupy squid marks on your underwear. You don't. I just know you don't.
Biff (02:02)
That's right. real quickly, we want to talk about our our sponsors, Scotty's vodka, Marilyn Made, Marilyn Marilyn Smooth, big time of the year again, going into football season, tailgating season for Scotty's vodka. I know the tailgates that we will be a part of will have plenty of Scotties involved.
Again, you can buy that at a lot of package stores across Delaware, Maryland, DC, where else? So what other states are they in? I can't remember if they're in Virginia or not. I think they're in Virginia, but at restaurants and package goods stores. So go out and get some Scotty's vodka. You won't be disappointed. Rockfish Let us in again. it with the song and and Miss is fun. one thing I did put a date on the last show notes of the Kinsale, Virginia concert, which I believe is next weekend.
what's
that the 17th or thereabouts in Kim's Hill, Virginia. So look out for Rockfish and the river men there in the northern neck. and finally Tackle Up Bethany Beach, which is a great segue for me to talk about what I just did today. which I tackle up Bethany Beach for all your performance fishing wear. I am wearing some right now. it's tackleupb.com and remember to type in laugh 15 to get 15% off.
And what I did wearing this is I actually wore it fishing as opposed to for recording a podcast and radio show. I did that today.
Lucky (03:19)
Okay.
So okay, so Biff calls me last night and says, Hey, I have us you know, we're going out on the smoker. We got a spot. Do you wanna go? And I'm like y you know, I was like, my gosh, it's one of my bucket list things to go out, deep sea fishing, fishing for the
Biff (03:35)
Yeah.
Lucky (03:35)
big fish, but
Mr Fun (03:35)
Yeah.
Lucky (03:36)
I couldn't make it. So I said, Please send me a lot of pictures and videos and I have a lot of commentary on your pictures and videos from today.
Biff (03:42)
So, okay, so
before we get to that, let me first thank Matt for the owner of Tackle Up associated with and his partner Frank with the the smoker and the Captain Brenner. There was another he's a captain, I think, but he was acting his first name, a guy named Jimbo, from the Outer Banks of North Carolina. there were some other guests in there, Corey, Sean, Cam. and three of us were charged with catching fish today.
which was great. And I learned how to do it. I sort of I learned the process. I observed it, which is there's a lot of lines in the water. And if you've never fished with them, steer clear. Just let the people that know what they're doing have at it. Because it was just I it was controlled chaos. And they were in control and I thought it was chaos. And I knew that if I stepped in there it was going to be a disaster. So I all I did was they helped
get the f they the way it works, Mr. Fun, is they have these things called teasers, which is also the name of a restaurant in Ocean City where now it makes sense to be, which basically has these things that just float or they're just underwater, dragged behind the boat. They attract the Marlin. The Marlin look for those, and once they see a marlin go for that, they then get a line in front of the Marlin with a hook on it. They hook the fish, then they hand you the rod. So it's all boom, boom, boom, stuff getting
reeled in around you as you get the rod handed to you and then you reel it in. so
Mr Fun (05:07)
Wow.
Biff (05:07)
I and you wear a I you wear a waistband thing, right? So you can stick the rod in there. there was the first fish was a blue marlin that was caught. That was not me. I was third in line. so I caught there was a white marlin, then I caught a white marlin and then there was a third white marlin that was caught in the course of day. We went eighty miles southeast to the Norfolk Canyon. So we went all the way to the tip of Virginia on the Delmarva.
leaving Ocean City. Left at five in the morning. Boat was hauling twenty five knots. It was going as fast as a as the boat can go. you know, pretty smooth I'd say. And it was beautiful out there. Got to have to watch the sunrise, as you could expect when you start a boat day at five in the morning. but it was wonderful. It was just it was a lot of fun.
Mr Fun (05:51)
So you you watch the sunrise while holding your reel in your hand? Your rod. I'm sorry, your rod in your hand? Yeah.
Biff (05:55)
Okay. All right. All right. Keep keep coming, mister Funn. Just keep coming. Okay.
Lucky (05:59)
The f okay. The
the first picture that he sends
Mr Fun (06:02)
Yeah.
Lucky (06:03)
is a picture, it's a video and like everybody's got their shirt off and they're all scrambling. No, no. And I'm like, I'm like, Biff, do you have your shirt off? You gotta get your shirt off. And he's like, No, I got my shirt on. I'm like, dude, you gotta that's how you're gonna fit in if you d you know, do what they're those guys are doing.
Biff (06:07)
No, there's one wait, wait, there's one person with their shirt off. I am I got there
was one person with a shirt off. You happen to be the first mate.
Mr Fun (06:19)
Right. How are you gonna fit in with
Lucky (06:21)
Okay.
Mr Fun (06:22)
Jimbo, the fisherman from North Carolina, if you don't take your shirt off? I mean that guy's
Biff (06:26)
Well that's he was and
Mr Fun (06:28)
all man. You gotta do what he does. Whatever Jimbo does, you should do.
Biff (06:32)
okay,
nobody else did it. I did why as close as I could wear to white pants, I wore white shorts ish. They were they were
Lucky (06:39)
Yeah.
Biff (06:39)
stone colored, but I figure I I'd represent. They
Mr Fun (06:41)
Yeah, you wanna wear those when you catch the bloody fish. You wanna
Lucky (06:43)
Yeah, he
was not
Mr Fun (06:44)
wear
Lucky (06:44)
expecting to get any g gore on his on his on his five fifty.
Biff (06:47)
trust me.
Trust me. Ask me how many pieces of fish I I touched today. That would be zero, right?
Lucky (06:53)
Yeah.
Mr Fun (06:53)
Did you
touch the worms or were you afraid of the worms? Did you touch there's no worms.
Biff (06:55)
There's no worms on a deep sea fishing
boat, mister Pud
Lucky (06:58)
So so so the other
other video is he's you know he's actually filming activity that he's not a part of, but it looks like he's got a blanket on his legs.
Biff (07:07)
I do not. Those are my shorts. I did not have blanket on my legs. Yeah, yes.
Lucky (07:09)
okay. So I had to double check that. And then the
third time, the her
Mr Fun (07:13)
Right.
Lucky (07:13)
th the the third video is him actually with the with the wit belt on and he's got a fish on and
Biff (07:18)
Yeah. Yeah.
Lucky (07:20)
he's got a mate helping him, and the mate
Biff (07:22)
Yes.
Lucky (07:23)
is basically coming up behind him. He's got his two hands on Biff's hips, making sure that Biff doesn't go into the water.
Biff (07:31)
Okay. I'd I'd like
Mr Fun (07:29)
Yeah.
Sliding
his fingers into the white belt loops of his shorts to make sure he doesn't fall overboard. Good for you, Biff. Good for you.
Biff (07:37)
Okay. There's a you you you have
you have embellished slightly lucky. I believe that would be the the right way to put that, but it was you know, well played. that was Jimbo, by the way. He was a
Lucky (07:50)
okay.
Biff (07:50)
that he has a he had a he had a a comforting hand on my lower back. I'll just put it that way. If that's the if that's the way I I didn't I didn't I I
Mr Fun (07:55)
Stop it. Stop it.
Lucky (07:57)
Did you have to buy him dinner afterwards or what?
Mr Fun (08:01)
I firstly
want to thank Jimbo for taking care of our boy Biff and making sure he came home safely. Thank you, Jimbo.
Biff (08:03)
Yeah. but
but it was great. Again, I now I have much more respect for the White Marlin Open and what they do. all the fishermen and in the process. I did share one thing, Mr. Fun. So the so the first mate on the White Marlin Open can actually hook the fish, if I understand, or any fishing competition. He, presumably it's he, but if it's a she, first mate, they hand it to you.
That rod can never leave your hands again until you reel the fish in. If it if you don't bring it in the boat, it's a penalty at that point in time. So that was that was important and it was kind of to understand that process. But the fact of that that they've got so much going on in the science about catching a fish, it's not just putting a line and and dragging it behind the boat. I I was much it was much more impressive. And if that's what all the
Mr Fun (08:55)
Once you once you hook that
fish, that that chip gets reels. That chip gets real. Once you
Biff (09:01)
That
shit gets real. That's good. That's good. That was I I I I I get that. That was fun. Yeah,
Mr Fun (09:03)
Yeah. It's a pun. Pun on words.
Biff (09:07)
I I caught that one, Mr. Fun. I caught
that fun. See? See, that's how we do it. So so
Mr Fun (09:10)
Nice nice and then you threw it back in it. Threw it back in.
Biff (09:14)
final thing I say is it was the smoker. I met the captain, Brenner. Interesting story. So the smoker is actually named after him. I go, why is the book called The Smoker? Frank, one of the the the the partners with Tackle Up, said, because
When he the captain is so famous in the outer banks and catching fish that he smoked the competition. So that's where the name the smoker comes from. But I get in a conversation with with Brenner and I said, Where are you from? Are you from North Carolina? He goes, because they they're out of the Oregon Inlet, North Carolina. He goes, No, I'm a native to Ocean City, 67 years old. We had a discussion. I go, Wow, there weren't a lot of people around when you were growing up. He goes, My family's been in Ocean City since nineteen seven.
Lucky (09:57)
my gosh.
Biff (09:57)
nineteen nineteen seven or nineteen eight they were the seventh house in the whole town of ocean city and and so and his family was also tied to there's where Glenn Riddle golf course is it's just in West Ocean City was actually a horse training facility and the fam their family were horse trainers and they helped train man of war right which was one of the famous horses that became that also did war admiral which won the Kentucky the Triple Crown.
So there's this connection there that was really cool. I did make the passing comment, which is an interesting philosophical discussion. Go, I can't imagine living in Ocean City without air conditioner. I mean, how hot it had to be on the Del Marva Peninsula. And he goes, Well, if you did if air conditioning didn't know it if air conditioning didn't exist, it is what it is. Do you think do you think that changes your perception of heat having air conditioning or not? Meaning
Lucky (10:52)
Yeah. Yeah.
Being able to exp getting relief from the hot air by getting by going inside to cold air. I think
Biff (10:59)
No, but if you
didn't know it w if you didn't know any better, like you would never experience it, do you think you would sleep better when it's hot and humid out? Or do you do you Okay. That was an interesting perspective.
Mr Fun (11:05)
Yeah. It it's like the show
Lucky (11:06)
Yeah. Yeah.
Mr Fun (11:08)
I was watching the other day. I was watching the Little House on the Prairie series, after you enjoyed it. And
Biff (11:13)
Uh-huh. I did.
Mr Fun (11:14)
they were playing with buttons and ribbons. And I said, What a life to just enjoy hours, hours playing with your new buttons and ribbon. Like they just didn't know better. They didn't know better.
Lucky (11:26)
That yeah, that's how Rock
Rock and Stick got onto the top twenty toys of all time. Right?
Mr Fun (11:33)
Yeah.
Biff (11:34)
Exactly. Exactly.
Mr Fun (11:35)
They were so excited
about their new ribbon. Their new ribbon and their their buttons. So excited.
Biff (11:41)
Anyway,
I'll put all the contact information for Tackle Up B B online as well as the smoker because you can charter the smoker out of the outer banks, traditionally. but please do it. It's it's well worth it to to to do that. So lucky, what else is sort a quick recap from last week?
Lucky (11:56)
Yeah,
quick quick recap. So it is this weekend is National Hug Your Hound Day. So everybody hugged their hounds. But
Biff (12:02)
Okay.
Lucky (12:03)
it we got a lot of questions from the topic last week when Biff talked about this random dog that he saved and actually got the dog was skunked up
Biff (12:13)
Yeah.
Lucky (12:14)
and in his garage. Whatever happened to the dog is what everybody's asking.
Biff (12:16)
So I
I I will admit I do not know and I haven't checked because my fear is, and I've said this to a couple of people, if I go to the S brandywine SBCA, which is a good organization for the and and see that the dog is still there, I'm gonna go adopt the dog. And the last thing we need is a second dog. Let alone
Lucky (12:35)
Okay.
Biff (12:35)
as as as Mrs. Biffett said, it's a pit bull. I go, but it was a sweet pit bull, if such a thing can be called that. So I I have not checked because I have actually
forbid myself from checking what happened to the dog. And but I
Lucky (12:48)
Okay. okay.
Biff (12:49)
I presumably it got back to its owner because again it was it had a collar and it had a leash, but but if it's there, I I I don't know. I I I hope it's not.
Lucky (12:57)
Okay.
Mr Fun (12:57)
Did they capture the skunk?
Biff (13:00)
They did not capture the skunk.
Mr Fun (13:02)
Got it. Got it. Well, I just thought if
Lucky (13:03)
Yeah.
Biff (13:04)
I thought there was a joke coming.
Mr Fun (13:06)
they captured him and he went in front of a judge, the judge might say he was out of odor.
Lucky (13:10)
Odor. Good one. Look at you.
Biff (13:11)
Well done. Well played.
Lucky (13:15)
the other we had a lot of conversation about the provocative question f it was Labor Day weekend last weekend, and we proposed four crazy jobs. Which one would we do for the rest of our lives? Professional line sitter, golf ball diver, pet food taster, or professional mourner. And
Biff (13:32)
Mm-hmm.
Lucky (13:32)
I think most people that I know, mostly males that commented, would do the golf ball diver job and would not want
Yeah, I you know, we took the two of the three of us took professional line sitter. no nobody really wanted that. Everybody thought it would be cool to be the golf ball diver, which I I wouldn't like that job. So
Biff (13:51)
Yeah, I would
I would not either. I I just you know, again, sitting in the middle of the ocean bobbing around today, the fact is I just don't like touching things underwater and I can't go imagine going into slimy water to get golf balls out of the bottom of some t s snapping turtle pond out there.
Mr Fun (14:04)
I would love that. I would love that. Yes.
Lucky (14:05)
You didn't
You didn't tell Jimbo
that you don't like to touch touch things underwater when you got on the smoker
Biff (14:11)
Yeah
Lucky (14:12)
today, did you?
Biff (14:12)
there there's things you got a better left kept unsaid.
Mr Fun (14:15)
Yes.
Lucky (14:17)
All right. all right, very good. so a couple quirky stories. And it this one this first one, I really I wanted to dissect it a little bit. Okay. it in and of itself, the story is not that crazy, but I really the respon people's response to it is one I'm I'm just unsure of. Okay. So it's head l headline is naked door dash driver. Okay.
So
in Northeast Houston, there was a big controversy. Someone on their caught a naked DoorDash driver dropping off the food on the like their, you know, their house camera or whatever. Went crazy, vulgar and completely unacceptable that the the that the guy was naked and he delivered the you know the food or whatever. you know, everyone was like, what do we do when
A d you know, there's a naked guy who delivers the DoorDash, you know, DoorDash had a bunch of commentary. Okay.
If it was a woman, would this story be the same?
Mr Fun (15:20)
Mm.
Biff (15:20)
Hmm, that's a good question. So but let's rewind real quick. Did they cat they've caught the guy? Meaning literally the he's he's on camera, so that's the they've caught him, fired him, presumably. do we know anything about
Lucky (15:27)
They caught the guy, yes. Yes. Yes, yes. Kicked him off the DoorDash platform.
Biff (15:34)
the do we know anything about the guy? Is he was he slovenly? Was he a young guy? Was he was he what it what it do we know anything about him? Just a naked duke.
Lucky (15:41)
regular naked dude. Regular naked dude.
Mr Fun (15:43)
Was it cold outside
or hot outside? Was it cold or hot outside?
Lucky (15:45)
It's Houston, so it's hot.
Mr Fun (15:47)
It was warm. Okay. Important. No, no, no. I mean you wanted to know if he was good looking. I wanted to know Yeah.
Biff (15:47)
Okay. Okay. I'm ready. I'm ready for the next part of that. okay. But yeah.
Lucky (15:50)
Yeah.
Biff (15:55)
I I think your your point is fair. If it was a woman, would it be ca I think it would still be causing news.
Mr Fun (16:03)
It depends who's answering the door.
Biff (16:05)
Right. I I would think that would be the case.
Lucky (16:08)
DoorDash
business would go up like twenty five percent if it if it was a woman. Like
Biff (16:13)
No, but but let's
be fair. If you had a delivery person show up at your door naked with your food, regardless if it was male or female, wouldn't that bother you, Lucky?
Lucky (16:24)
I think it would be pretty funny, to be honest with you.
Mr Fun (16:26)
Mechel.
Meet you.
Biff (16:28)
Funny?
Lucky (16:29)
Yeah, we'd have a good story to tell.
Biff (16:31)
Okay. All right.
Mr Fun (16:32)
Let me ask you
this question, because I don't DoorDash. Do you put the tip on bef on the delivery before or after the naked person arrives? Like can you can you increase the can you in can can you increase the tip? Can you increase the tip after they arrive?
Biff (16:42)
I thought you were going. I thought you were go I thought you were going somewhere else. I will say that. I did again, again,
you can't touch that one either if you increase the tip, especially if it's a mail DoorDash driver. So stop. Just
Lucky (16:59)
Yeah.
Biff (16:59)
stop. I I don't know. It's weird. I think it's weird regardless. I I think that it's yes, you might have a story to tell, but you don't, you just don't want you one, you always worry about you know.
People touching your food, whether they're clothed and I can't imagine naked. You know, these they they're they're sit they're sitting in their car naked. Right. They're the
Mr Fun (17:16)
I didn't even think about that. I did not even think about that. It's in a bag. It's in a bag.
Lucky (17:23)
Yeah, it's all sealed up.
Biff (17:24)
they're adjusting things
Lucky (17:26)
Okay.
Biff (17:26)
unclothed on their body. No, I understand
Mr Fun (17:27)
No, no. The bag is stapled. The b bag is stapled.
Biff (17:31)
that, but still, you've got some guy that may be touching his junk, then touching your bag.
Mr Fun (17:37)
Right.
Biff (17:38)
Again, pardon the expression.
Lucky (17:39)
That could e it could have happened.
Mr Fun (17:41)
I personally
I personally wouldn't appreciate a a naked guy showing up. I'd probably laugh. I'd probably laugh. And
Biff (17:46)
Okay. Okay.
Mr Fun (17:48)
I would and I'm the type I'm too cheap to not eat the food, so I'd still eat the food.
Lucky (17:53)
Think about it, Biff though. Okay,
Biff (17:53)
Ha ha ha.
Lucky (17:54)
you're supposed to wash your hands if you work in restaurants, but you talked
Biff (17:57)
Yes.
Lucky (17:57)
about touching junk. There could have been like two or three people touching that bag before it even made it to the DoorDash driver that had their jump shoes.
Biff (18:04)
I don't I don't disagree with
you. It's just a lot more obvious when they're not wearing clothes that it is that that that their sanitary conditions may have been you know, the line has been crossed, if you will.
Mr Fun (18:17)
Biff, let me go let me go back to your like nineteen year old self. And assuming DoorDash was around, if you could do ten DoorDash deliveries and you could get a hundred dollar tip on each one, would you do them naked?
Biff (18:32)
And Chordash deliveries.
Lucky (18:32)
Yeah, the second. Would
you say if we were in college? Like if we were
Mr Fun (18:34)
You would Yeah.
Lucky (18:35)
co I'd do that. I I try that.
Biff (18:36)
Yeah, we were in college.
Mr Fun (18:38)
You would do it.
Biff (18:39)
I
I well that's a good question.
Lucky (18:40)
Awesome bucks.
Biff (18:41)
I it's tempting, I will say that. I'm not sure I would, but it is tempting. I know. This yeah, this is
Mr Fun (18:46)
Lucky you would do it for like twenty dollars each e
Lucky (18:49)
Yeah, I think it'd be cool.
Biff (18:51)
Lucky Lucky's price of entries on all those sorts of contests is a lot lower than ours.
Mr Fun (18:55)
Yeah.
Lucky (18:56)
Yeah.
But I'm
telling you, the woman if if if someone wants to increase sales of DoorDash in some Geo and some woman wants to to lead the charge, if she if she delivers naked, you watch, everybody's gonna wanna like want to see that naked girl showing up with the DoorDash bag. You know what I mean? So anyway, all right. So I sa I
Biff (19:14)
Mm. Good.
Mr Fun (19:14)
Yeah.
Lucky (19:16)
saw that one. Okay. It's it's National Peanut Day this weekend. So it's been a
gosh, almost two months now since we had a host draft. So I thought I'd bring back one of our host drafts in honor of National Peanut Day. And we're gonna go best peanut foods. Okay. And
Biff (19:34)
Okay.
Lucky (19:34)
we're each gonna pick four peanut foods. And what at least one of them has to be like an entree. Not like there's all kinds of candies and stuff like that, but one of them has to be an entree.
Okay, of your picks. And you can pick it any, any, any of your picks. so Mr. Fun, you're gonna go first. Biff, you're second, I'll go third, we'll do snake draft and lead us off, Mr. Fun.
Mr Fun (20:01)
All right, only because I think the entree is the most difficult. I'm gonna go with pate. That
Lucky (20:08)
Okay.
Mr Fun (20:08)
that tie
Biff (20:10)
What do you call it?
Mr Fun (20:11)
pe you know, you know what it is.
Lucky (20:13)
Chicken pate.
Biff (20:15)
No, no, no, he got it wrong. You can go with pate then, because that is completely wrong. Nope, I don't. He c he
Mr Fun (20:20)
No, you know what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying. You know.
Biff (20:23)
lucky he called like I might go with Satay if I'm gonna go. no, no, you already called Pate. Pate Sat the
Mr Fun (20:27)
That's what I'm going with. The sete. Yes. Yes. I could give you sete and take another pick, but I'm not for
Lucky (20:27)
Mm-hmm.
Okay, we're gonna give it we're gonna give him benefit of the doubt. Chicken satay, Biff, you're up.
Mr Fun (20:38)
Yeah.
Biff (20:40)
the hard I'm gonna come back to the entree.
I'm gonna go with Reese's peanut butter cups.
Lucky (20:47)
Okay. Okay, good.
Mr Fun (20:47)
Yeah. Yeah.
Biff (20:50)
Yeah, all right.
Lucky (20:51)
Okay, okay. I'm gonna take two. I'm going peanut MMs and I'm going with peanut butter and jelly.
Biff (21:00)
Nice. Is that your entree?
Lucky (21:03)
Yes.
Biff (21:04)
You didn't yeah, I just gave you the answer on that one, but okay. Now who's up next? Me?
Lucky (21:08)
Okay,
Biff, you're up.
Biff (21:10)
I'm gonna go with
I'm gonna go with pad thai.
Lucky (21:16)
Good one.
Biff (21:16)
Has peanuts in it. Okay.
Lucky (21:18)
Yeah.
Mr Fun (21:18)
Wait, that's what I was going for.
Biff (21:20)
No you didn't. You went for pate. You got it wrong.
Mr Fun (21:24)
I was going for that.
Lucky (21:26)
We gave you s chicken satay with peanut sauce. Yeah. All right, Mr. Fun, you got two
Biff (21:26)
Okay setay, which also has a peanut sauce, chicken satay. Sat.
Mr Fun (21:31)
Right, I don't like it.
Lucky (21:33)
picks.
Mr Fun (21:34)
Alright, I am going with peanut butter and chocolate buckeyes. You ever have buckeyes? They're so good. It's like a it's a chocolate.
Biff (21:43)
Uh-huh. I do. I know what that's they're they're very good. Okay. It's it's a it's a it's
Lucky (21:46)
What is that, a cookie?
Biff (21:49)
a it's a mounted of peanut butter with chocolate around it.
Mr Fun (21:52)
Yeah, that's a that's
a long
Lucky (21:54)
Okay.
Mr Fun (21:54)
before Reese's there were buckey. And I'm gonna
Biff (21:56)
Yeah, if they're they're very good. I'll give them credit on that. Okay.
Lucky (21:58)
Okay.
Mr Fun (21:58)
go I'm gonna drink too. I'm gonna go peanut butter whiskey.
Lucky (22:02)
Ooh, good one.
Biff (22:02)
What? that's that screwball stuff.
Lucky (22:05)
Yeah. Mrs. Lucky loves that.
Mr Fun (22:05)
So good. Peanut butter whiskey.
Biff (22:09)
I it's me, I believe, right? So I so really No, it's mine. It should be mine. Yeah, so
Lucky (22:12)
no. It's my my pick. My pick. Yep. wait a minute.
Mr Fun (22:15)
No we're going up. He's got one more.
Lucky (22:18)
we're going up. Okay, Biff and then I get two more. Go ahead, Biff.
Biff (22:22)
and we have I can't do anything with peanut butter at this point, right? Because you did the sandwich. I would
Lucky (22:28)
Yeah, there's some tanks.
Biff (22:29)
I would say to you, I am a big fan of
I don't know what you call the peanuts. They're the ones you like Old Bay peanuts. They come in a a jar
Mr Fun (22:39)
Yeah.
Biff (22:40)
like a jar thingy, whatever they are. I don't know how they're c
Lucky (22:42)
Yeah.
Biff (22:43)
they're bro they're they're roasted, I suppose, with Old Bay. Very good. Yep.
Lucky (22:46)
Okay. All
right. Old bag peanut.
Mr Fun (22:48)
You know why,
you know why a peanut can't have more than one job? 'Cause it would be spread too thin. It would be spread too thin.
Biff (22:57)
Very good.
Mr Fun (22:58)
Yeah.
Lucky (22:58)
Okay.
all right. I am gonna go okay, I'm going I'm going I'm gonna go another entree. And and and I'm going with Kung Pao chicken.
with the peanuts in it.
Lucky (23:14)
Okay, just to recap our best peanut foods host draft, Biff had Reese's peanut butter cups, pad thai, and old baked peanuts. I had peanut MMs, peanut butter and jelly, and I went Kung Pao chicken with peanuts in it. Mr. Fun went with chicken saute, buckeyes, and peanut butter whiskey. Pretty good selection. So contact at lastsmartly.com who's got the best draft. we'll recap it next week.
Mr Fun (23:43)
My my entree got a little confusing 'cause when I talk about food from Thailand I o often get tongue tied. I get tongue tied when I
Lucky (23:50)
Yeah.
Biff (23:51)
Very good. Very good.
Mr Fun (23:51)
Yeah. Yeah.
Lucky (23:53)
Okay. I saw this. I saw this story. Sydney, there's a lot of marathons going on right now, it seems, in in big cities. And they have Sydney and Australia has a big marathon. And they designed the metal for the marathon and they decided to put attractions for this the for the city of Sydney on the metal. Well, okay, so they put the Sydney Opera House, the Harbor Bridge, which are two big Sydney attractions.
But they accidentally put the Munich Alliance Arena instead of a different arena in Sydney. And so this this medal, the vo the winner is gonna get a medal that has a a picture of a Munich Germany attraction on it.
Biff (24:41)
Thanks
Lucky (24:42)
And I'm like, and and
so they did not even d they didn't even want to go back and and fix it. They just said some they're we're just gonna run with it. They get this medal. And I'm like, I think the next year when somebody runs in the city marathon, they may decide not to run it because they don't know what they're gonna get.
Mr Fun (24:57)
That
was in Australia?
Lucky (24:59)
Yes.
Mr Fun (25:00)
That really boomeranged, huh? Hey, did they
Biff (25:02)
Yeah.
Mr Fun (25:05)
I thought First Nation that means it was it was after the like aborigines?
Biff (25:12)
When did it say First Nation?
Mr Fun (25:13)
Didn't
you say it was a First Nation artist or something? I heard you say something, no?
Lucky (25:16)
No. No.
Mr Fun (25:18)
I thought the medal was designed by somebody from the First Nation. No? I might have made that up. That makes no sense. That makes no sense. I know. That's why I was confused. I bet you
Biff (25:23)
Okay. Well, okay. That's a Canadian thing, by the way, First Nation. Okay.
Mr Fun (25:34)
if you
Lucky (25:34)
Wow.
Mr Fun (25:35)
guys do some research right now, if you find the Sydney medal, you'll see what I'm talking about. It'll be confusing. That's what I
Lucky (25:40)
Okay.
Mr Fun (25:40)
was going to ask you about.
Lucky (25:42)
Well, we
Mr Fun (25:42)
I was gonna get
Lucky (25:42)
we're not experts on Sydney medals or marathons, but we do know a lot about the NFL.
Mr Fun (25:48)
Right.
Biff (25:49)
We do.
Lucky (25:50)
And so
Mr Fun (25:50)
NFL Hey,
you know, I read that they're getting rid of the female refs. It was a experiment they tried, but they kept bringing up penalties from two years ago.
Biff (25:58)
Ha!
Mr Fun (25:59)
The females kept doing that.
Biff (26:00)
That's funny.
Lucky (26:00)
Okay. All
right. So it's the start of the NFL season. We do I thought we'd do some host predictions to kick off the season, see how we how we do. I don't know, b I don't know. But you know, the Jet what do we got? A Jets fan?
Biff (26:17)
Well, yeah, so I've done some quick research here. There's three games that we're going to focus on this week. We're going to pick the local teams if you want to call the teams and effectively that are supported by the Delmarva Peninsula. So we've got Ravens, Eagles and Commanders. We'll focus on those. And then for Mr. Fun, a lifelong Jets fan, we're going to bring the Jets game into it. So I've asked him, right?
Mr Fun (26:36)
J E T S Jets, Jets, Jets.
Biff (26:39)
On the boat today, I asked some celebrity pickers as well. So we'll go with the first game is Ravens versus the Colts. It's Indianapolis and the Ravens are giving three and a half points. I'll do the celebrity pickers first and then we will give our own picks at who's going to win that game. Quickly, Matt, he is taking the Ravens and giving the three and a half. So his brother, Sean, who was on the boat with us today.
and then corey who was on the boat is also taking the ravens and myself i am taking the ravens what about you too ravens versus colt
Mr Fun (27:12)
Remind me who's the Colts
quarterback now? Do we know?
Biff (27:15)
It's guy from the Giants,
Lucky (27:18)
Yeah. Kelly.
Mr Fun (27:19)
yeah, is he back?
Is he back? He was injured. Jones. Yeah.
Lucky (27:23)
Jones, D Jones. D'Angel
Biff (27:23)
Jones, Daniel Jones. Yeah,
that I don't
Lucky (27:25)
Jones, okay.
Biff (27:25)
know. So I don't know. What do you think? All right. So Queen's
Mr Fun (27:27)
I'm gonna take the Raven. I'm gonna take the Raven.
Lucky (27:28)
Take I'm taking the Ravens. Ravens.
Biff (27:31)
sweep on the Ravens. We'll have to watch that again, giving three and a half. Next game, which is surprising me because I didn't follow the schedule, is the Eagles versus commander. NFC East tilt. It is in Philadelphia and the Eagles are giving five and a half points. Again, celebrity pickers, Sean, Matt.
and Corey are all taking the Eagles and it pains me because I've, but I saw how poorly they played in the preseason. I'm going to have to take the Eagles giving the five and a half. The commanders just do not look very good to me. What about you guys?
Mr Fun (28:08)
I'm gonna so I just completed my fantasy draft and
Biff (28:11)
Uh-huh.
Mr Fun (28:12)
I'm a lifetime, I'm gonna lose some listeners here, lifetime commander slash Redskin hater. Like I always root against them. But I
Biff (28:21)
Yeah.
Mr Fun (28:21)
picked the quarterback, Daniels, as my quar QB one and I'm gonna root for the him to have a great game, and so therefore I I'm gonna think the Redskins are gonna win.
Biff (28:31)
Okay, sorry.
Lucky (28:32)
I'm
taking the commanders. That's my team. they there's a lot of Daniels, Quinn, the coach are on the hot seat. I think they're gonna cover the spread, maybe not win.
Biff (28:43)
Okay. All right. Fair enough. And then the last game, the New York Jets against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville, Tennessee. The New York Jets are getting a point and a half from the Titans. They, again, who do we have? Matt and Corey chose the Jets and the one and a half points.
Mr Fun (29:04)
They're smart. They're really smart.
Biff (29:06)
I took the Titans and Matt's brother, Sean, also taking the Titans.
against the Jets. do you, Mr. Fun, you just tilted your, yeah.
Mr Fun (29:13)
Yeah. So the the Jets
have an exciting free agent class. They have a great draft. I consider their three first round picks to be excellent. it's a hopefully a rebound year for Geno Smith, the quarterback who was also the quarterback the Jets twelve years ago. How ironic is that? I'm
Biff (29:34)
Okay.
Mr Fun (29:36)
picking the JETS Jets to be the surprise team of the NFL this year.
Biff (29:44)
Nashville.
Lucky (29:42)
Where's this game being played, Biff?
I'm taking the Titans. They're
Mr Fun (29:47)
Yeah.
Biff (29:47)
Yeah.
It's the, did see this, the, not just the spread, but the, total, the over under the points are really low as, as you know, Matt said, he goes, these could be two of the worst teams in NFL playing each other in week one. And they are who's the, who's the quarterback
Mr Fun (30:03)
Bryce Hall, Garrett Wilson, we're gonna see fireworks from the Jets.
Lucky (30:03)
Yeah.
Biff (30:08)
on the Titans? There's a good question.
Lucky (30:10)
the the
cam ward.
Mr Fun (30:12)
Yeah, Kim Ward. Cam Ward.
Biff (30:13)
Is that the old,
was he not Duke? yeah, okay.
Lucky (30:15)
It was the first pick in the draft last year, I think. So
Mr Fun (30:17)
Yeah. Hey,
Lucky (30:18)
so the
Mr Fun (30:18)
hey, let's
do it. Let's do it. So all over social media. It's if you were in front of a judge and he sentenced you to ten years in prison or said you can get out when the Jets make the playoffs again. Which would you pick? Ten years in prison or when the Jets make the playoffs again?
Lucky (30:34)
So we we got convicted of the crime.
Mr Fun (30:36)
Yep, you're guilty and you choose the sentence ten years in prison or you can get out the year the Jets make the playoffs.
Lucky (30:44)
Yeah, it that's a hard one 'cause the Jets haven't made it in a long time. So I
Mr Fun (30:47)
Fifteen years.
Biff (30:47)
No, I
think it's, I think you obviously gotta take the Jets thing. However, to me the wild card would be, pardon the pun, is if the Jets win their next playoff, win a playoff game as opposed to getting into the playoffs.
Mr Fun (31:00)
They haven't been
in the playoffs for fifteen years.
Biff (31:03)
Yeah. Mark Sanchez, right? Wasn't that the last time they went in? Yeah, that's right. So.
Mr Fun (31:05)
The butt fumble. All
Lucky (31:06)
Yeah.
Mr Fun (31:08)
right, all right. So you would
Lucky (31:09)
Well
Mr Fun (31:09)
you would think the Jets will be in the playoffs in the next ten years?
Biff (31:12)
Yes, I do believe that to be true.
Lucky (31:13)
Yeah, I'm not sure about that. Okay, so the just so you know, here are the worst teams in the NFL, ranked from the the the worst is the Cardinals, Dolphins, Raiders, Jets, Cleveland Browns, Saints, Titans, and the Commanders are all on the list of the bottom teams in the NFL. top teams, as these are the Super Bowl favorites, Rams, Bills, Ravens, Seahawks, Chiefs, Chargers, Eagles.
Bengals, Texans, Patriots, Lions, Forty Niners. Those are the list of the the the predictable favorite, you the who they who everyone thinks can win the Super Bowl.
Mr Fun (31:52)
I
was in I was at Newark Airport and the Jets plane had broken down so they were getting on regular planes and there was a backup, a backup defensive back who couldn't get on the plane. They didn't think he would fit in first class, and I yelled, put him in, coach. I said, put him in put him in coach, is what I yelled.
Lucky (32:10)
Put them in coach. I like
it. For for for the Commanders and Eagles fans out there, the the first the Dan Quinn from the Commanders and Nick Siriani from the Eagles are both on the highest odds for first or the lowest odds, excuse me, for the first coach fired this year. So, so
Biff (32:33)
Yeah,
I would think Quinn's definitely on the hot seat and partially because two years ago they did so well. He does have Jaden Daniels in. They're building a new stadium and they got to start winning. And if he doesn't win
Lucky (32:44)
Yeah. Yeah.
Biff (32:45)
early, think he could be...
Lucky (32:46)
Mr. Fun Air Aaron Glenn of the Jets is on the list too. So
Mr Fun (32:50)
I know.
Lucky (32:53)
All right. Well yeah, and I I I'm a Commanders fan, so I'm hoping for some wins this year.
Biff (32:59)
Excellent. What else going on?
Lucky (33:01)
Are we done?
Biff (33:03)
No, we gotta keep going.
Lucky (33:04)
No, we're done in ten minutes, you said. You said you I thought you were gonna stop.
Biff (33:06)
No, I know, but I'm still going to keep going. just need,
that's all right. I just needed the segment to end around 10 seconds or 10 minutes. We're fine. We'll just keep going. So
Lucky (33:13)
Okay. All right. All right. Okay.
Biff (33:16)
we'll take it just past 20. We'll take it to 25 minutes. Okay.
Yeah. Yeah.
Lucky (33:20)
Twenty five. Okay. So 50. Okay. All right. Right. We gotta go long here, guys. All right.
So, all right. So we're talking about competition in the NFL season. I saw this competition. I I don't know if I would want to ever compete in this, even if the prize was so big. The Hungarian grave digging contest. The Hungarian Association of Cemetery Maintainers and Operators each year organizes a contest to showcase the grave digging.
Digging trade and its skills and shake off the death-related taboos. Okay. So I, you know, I think there might be a different way to maybe glorify this job than to do this competition. But what it's it the competition is two two-man teams. There's nine, there were 19 of them, and their job is to the go for the title of the quickest dig and the most stylish grave.
Mr Fun (34:17)
No.
Lucky (34:18)
Okay. So their job was to dig a five and a half foot deep, six and a half foot long grave. And the winning team did it in an hour and twenty one minutes.
Mr Fun (34:31)
Wow.
Biff (34:32)
Wait, but did you all, did I hear you say stylish?
Lucky (34:37)
Stylish, the most stylish grave.
Biff (34:40)
How does the grave become stylish?
Lucky (34:42)
you have to be careful about you know, make sure it's like beautifully carved. Maybe the corners are are cut, you know.
Biff (34:49)
Again, we're just
talking about the hole in the ground.
Lucky (34:52)
the whole the ground but it can't be just it it has to be we maybe have to have it like you know exactly symmetrical no s all the smoothness is is there
Mr Fun (35:03)
You
think if you put a body in the wrong hole, it would be considered a grave mistake? I'm just thinking out loud. Like wouldn't that be a grave mistake?
Lucky (35:11)
It would. Pr probably. Probably.
Biff (35:12)
Yes, you are thinking out loud. That's very
good.
Lucky (35:16)
Though the in this competition, six hundred and forty dollars was the winning prize money.
Mr Fun (35:21)
Wow. How much?
Biff (35:21)
Six hundred forty bucks.
Lucky (35:22)
Six hundred and forty bucks.
Two hundred thousand in Hungarian. In Hungarian. Hungary.
Mr Fun (35:24)
Huh. Maybe that's a lot in where where was this place again? Where? Yeah, Hungary. Hung hung Hungary.
Biff (35:30)
Hungary.
Jeez, Louis, Hungaria.
Mr Fun (35:31)
Yeah. Yeah. Hungaria, Hungary.
I know my geography, I just said it wrong.
Lucky (35:37)
Two hundred thousand
Hungarian forens is equal to six hundred and forty US dollars. That's a forens. Okay.
Mr Fun (35:42)
See, that's a lot of forents. That's a lot.
Biff (35:45)
What would
you dig a grave for, Lucky? What would it cost us to pay you to dig a grave?
Mr Fun (35:52)
And would you do
Lucky (35:52)
I d
Mr Fun (35:53)
it naked?
Lucky (35:54)
No, no, definitely not naked. I don't know if I'd do that job. I did it would
Biff (35:58)
You would.
Mr Fun (35:59)
Mm-hmm.
Lucky (36:00)
it would it would skeeve me out to be digging a grave. Just me doing it. I don't know. So no, I I it it
Biff (36:06)
So, okay, so if we
Mr Fun (36:06)
Wow.
Biff (36:08)
were to modify the Labor Day jobs to, you know, you've got, get golf balls out of a pond, you've got wine sitting, if you got rid of the mourner one, right, the mourner one, or did dig a grave, it wouldn't change anything? Okay.
Lucky (36:22)
No. No, I wouldn't
do that for the rest of my life
by long shot.
Mr Fun (36:25)
What
did what's it called when they like take somebody out of a grave and like change sh put in such
Biff (36:31)
Exhum it. Exhumed.
Lucky (36:31)
Exume them.
Mr Fun (36:33)
they they did that with Beethoven. I don't know if you know that, and when they exhumed him, they found he was wrapped in some of his old music paperwork. And they were both decomposing the the paperwork and Beethoven. They were decomposing.
Biff (36:46)
Very good.
Lucky (36:47)
Okay.
All right. and I we're big on crime. We have a crime, you know, crime section of the show.
Mr Fun (36:55)
Yeah. The blotter. The crime blotter.
Lucky (36:58)
Climb ladder. so this one is London. British police have a stout task ahead of them, according to the headline. Someone stole there
Biff (37:07)
there's a pun. There's a pun.
Lucky (37:09)
you go, 70,000 pints of Guinness, $155,000 worth was stolen, two trailer truckloads.
were were stolen. Yeah. And I'm is
Mr Fun (37:20)
Thirsty. The guy was thirsty. Is that a record?
Lucky (37:25)
it a record? What do you mean?
Mr Fun (37:27)
I don't I thought maybe it was in the Guinness book.
Lucky (37:29)
Guinness Book World Record. Yeah, it's pretty good. but I'm like, okay, so you ste you steal that much Guinness. How do you how do you move it? You know? I mean
Biff (37:41)
Yeah, mean, yeah,
Mr Fun (37:41)
Slowly. I think you move it slow. I think you
Biff (37:44)
it was weird. What country was it stolen in?
Lucky (37:46)
L London.
Mr Fun (37:47)
London.
Biff (37:48)
You get it out of the UK, I would imagine is the way you do it. Or you,
Mr Fun (37:51)
what a boat.
Biff (37:52)
I don't know, maybe. I don't know.
Mr Fun (37:54)
Huh.
Biff (37:55)
Probably these illicit pubs in continental Europe.
Mr Fun (37:59)
You know that story about the guy who went into a pub in New York City. He ordered three pints of Guinness. And the bartender puts him up, and before he drinks each pint, he raises a glass, drinks a pint. Raises glass, drinks a pint. Does three times. Comes back every day for a month. Finally, the bartender says, What's the deal with the with the three pints? He said, Well, I have a brother in London and a brother in Dublin. And we all go to the pub at the same time and we toast to each other that we're having a good life and a good day. And then he comes in about
A week later and he only orders two. And the bartender gets up his courage and he says, Listen, mate, I just wanted to apologize on behalf of the entire bar, you know, for your loss and he says, What do you mean? And he says, I thought maybe you lost a brother and he goes, no, I just stopped drinking.
Lucky (38:44)
Okay.
Biff (38:45)
Well done.
Lucky (38:46)
all right. and the the the one of the provocative questions that had came up from the hanging out at the beach this weekend, I thought I'd bring it to the show. All right. If you could only visit, and we're gonna do we're gonna have two variations on this. If you could only visit three states for the rest of your life, which ones are you visiting and why? And then we'll also do if you could you you you have to account for
you know, where you live too. So like you you know, if you didn't want to live in Delaware, for instance, you can pick a different place. But it so the first question is if you can only visit three states for the rest of your life, which ones and why? Mr. Fun, what do you got?
Mr Fun (39:27)
California, Hawaii, and I I might surprise you with New York. I think there's a
Lucky (39:34)
Okay. And why?
Mr Fun (39:35)
lot there. There's a lot to do in all of those, but it's the great outdoors. I'm not talking about quality of life or schools or or or anything other than just getting to see a lot of fun stuff.
Lucky (39:45)
Okay. All right, Biff, what do you got?
Biff (39:46)
Good.
I've got Colorado, California, and I actually have New York as well for New York city. It
Mr Fun (39:55)
All right.
Biff (39:55)
just, I do it one because I've Colorado is probably my, my, my favorite place to go. Cause the skiing and the mountains, California arguably the best weather in the country, I would say. and a lot of obviously natural resources are too beautiful. And as I New York city just or New York because New York city. So I think it's just, yeah, it's an exciting place to go.
Lucky (40:14)
Yeah. yeah, I would I would take California too for the the all the microclimates. There's so many different things to do there for that reason. I like New York City, so I picked New York and you know, Maryland, I love the state, so I picked it and I presumably will be living here for for the rest of my life. Now, when I proposed the question originally, I was assuming you had to live in the state, you know, like if the state you're living in counts as one of your three states.
you know, states. So and I was assuming you two would pick Delaware and and Maryland. And I didn't pick Delaware on my list because I figured when you come to Maryland I would visit you guys.
Mr Fun (40:55)
done with Maryland. I'm done with Maryland. I
Biff (40:58)
Ha ha ha.
Mr Fun (40:58)
I like the Terps. I like the Terps. Other than that I'm done with Maryland. I I might throw Alaska on my list too. That would be
Lucky (41:05)
But you're not gonna
come and visit the you're not gonna go to any Terps games, Mr. Fawn?
Mr Fun (41:08)
That's it. but gosh, I can never set foot in the state.
Lucky (41:12)
No, you can't visit.
Mr Fun (41:14)
Maryland, California, and New York. Maryland, Cal I don't know. Well I'd have to think about
Biff (41:19)
Yeah,
Mr Fun (41:19)
it.
Biff (41:20)
yeah, I don't know. I guess I'd have to think about that as well. Because, yeah, I don't know. then by process of elimination, you're saying if I did like Maryland, it's going to have to be Delaware, Maryland. Why would
Lucky (41:36)
Yeah.
Biff (41:37)
those be two of my three states?
Mr Fun (41:38)
Sure.
Biff (41:39)
That is what they were.
Lucky (41:39)
Well, 'cause you live
in Delaware, you there you have a lot of connections to Maryland.
Biff (41:43)
I know, I understand that, but that's two of the three states, are physically similar and obviously right next to each other. So I don't believe, I'm not gonna answer the question. I'm just say no to it. I am being
Mr Fun (41:57)
Ha ha ha ha.
Lucky (41:59)
my gosh. You're being provocative with the provocative question.
Biff (42:03)
provocative. real quick, just because I surveyed the guys in the boat, similar question, I'm not gonna go through all their answers, but I'll give you the states which were the same.
across the list and a couple of new ones. More than two picked California, a couple of Hawaii's, a couple of Alaska's. The wild cards were South Carolina. I'm sorry. A couple of Florida's and there were South Carolina and Tennessee that people were thinking about as well.
Mr Fun (42:30)
Tennessee, okay.
Lucky (42:30)
South Carolina.
I don't know why.
Mr Fun (42:32)
What do you think our what
do you think our significant others, our wives, would say? Would they agree with us?
Biff (42:38)
That's a good question. I don't necessarily know that. What did you say?
Mr Fun (42:39)
Yeah. I might ask my
Lucky (42:42)
Mrs. Lucky
liked California, took said maybe Florida. and we're too we're two of her. So I think you know, the c she didn't say Maryland, so I think
Mr Fun (42:51)
What about Marilyn for her? Yeah.
Lucky (42:54)
she might I that might be a sign.
Biff (42:55)
No, that's exactly.
Mr Fun (42:56)
Right.
Biff (42:57)
So I had a different, just because of provocative questions, I had this thought, I was driving home tonight, about cell phones. And your cell phone number has become a part of who you are. It is, right? So what would it take instead of, would you give up your cell phone number, or I gotta rephrase this. I thought,
The
odd one was, would I rather spend a day in prison or give up my cell phone number? Do you understand what I'm saying? So what
Lucky (43:33)
Mm.
Biff (43:34)
would you rather do? Is your cell phone number more important than spending a day in prison?
Mr Fun (43:41)
Is that maximum security prison or is it like a
Biff (43:44)
Let's just call it a real prison. Let's not call it Mayberry RFD. Let's call it a real prison.
Mr Fun (43:50)
Do I have my own self?
Lucky (43:50)
You get a roommate,
Mr Fun (43:51)
Do I have my own self?
Lucky (43:51)
you get a roommate and all that.
Biff (43:52)
Now you have
a roommate, you got one night in prison or keep your cell phone number. Okay, whatever, 24 hours, 24 hours. What would you get? Yep, okay.
Mr Fun (43:56)
You said night, you said day first. Now it's a twenty four hour period.
Lucky (44:00)
Twenty four hours. And you have to take a shower, you have to go, you have to eat.
Biff (44:06)
Okay, so again, you can either spend it or you have to give up your cell phone number. It is, just give me an answer.
Mr Fun (44:11)
It's a men's prison, right? It's a men's prison. It's overnight.
Biff (44:15)
Just give me.
Lucky (44:14)
Well, how many different
cell phone numbers have you had in your life, do you think? Have you only had one?
Mr Fun (44:18)
I've only had one.
Biff (44:19)
I've
only had one.
So
Lucky (44:21)
Yeah.
Biff (44:22)
again, there's a pain in changing over a cell phone. And would you do it or spend a night?
Mr Fun (44:29)
Yeah, I can't go to prison. I'd get a new cell phone. I can't go to prison.
Biff (44:32)
Okay. All
right. So then, all right, here's the other. So along the same lines, what about you, Lucky?
Lucky (44:38)
yeah, I'd probably give up my cell phone number, although I like it. I'd I wouldn't want to go to jail for a day.
Biff (44:43)
Okay, all right.
Mr Fun (44:43)
I'd figure it out. I'd figure out what to do.
Biff (44:45)
Neither of us have a tattoo or none of us have a tattoo. Would you give up, will you have a tattoo?
Lucky (44:48)
I do. Yeah.
Biff (44:52)
well that doesn't work. New tattoo, a bigger tattoo. Would you give up your cell phone or get a tattoo?
Lucky (44:59)
that's easy. Yeah, me too.
Mr Fun (44:59)
I'd get a tattoo. I've always thought I should
get one.
Biff (45:01)
Okay, alright, that's fair enough. Here's the final one. Would you give up your cell phone number or legally change your name to something else?
Mr Fun (45:09)
Can it be similar?
Biff (45:11)
It's something else, you gotta change it, whatever it is. Yes, guess it be, it could be Fun Mister in that case, but you have to change your name legally. What would you rather do? Give up your cell phone number or legally change your
Mr Fun (45:24)
I mean I could I could add like a different middle name or something.
Biff (45:28)
Just make it different. Call it John Doe. Legally change your name to John Doe or give
Mr Fun (45:32)
Ow.
Biff (45:33)
up your cell phone.
Mr Fun (45:34)
Well, but the reason I wouldn't give up a cell phone number, not because I'm sentimental or anything like that. It's because I mean word people couldn't find me. So if I change my name, that's a big problem. So
Biff (45:41)
Okay, so you would... No, it's not.
Lucky (45:44)
Why why
Biff (45:45)
You're just
Lucky (45:45)
you why
Biff (45:45)
arguing it's not a big problem.
Mr Fun (45:47)
No, so I'm
saying I would ch no, you told I gotta be John Doe or whatever. I can't be similar. So I'm gonna
Biff (45:51)
Yeah,
Mr Fun (45:53)
I'm gonna keep my name. I gotta keep my name.
Biff (45:56)
Okay.
Lucky (45:57)
Well, here's the thing. before we got cell phones, we had phone numbers associated with us, whether it was our work phone or our home phone, like
Biff (46:03)
All right. All right.
Lucky (46:05)
your your we, you know, where you grew up and that kind of thing. and I gave that up. I gave up seven six one seven nine two seven at some point in my life. That was my you know, my original phone number. So and I moved on. So I I don't although it's nice to for to be, you know, to have people know your number, I I don't really find a a
Personal attraction to it. Maybe my email address would be my I'd probably have be more possessive of getting rid of that.
Biff (46:35)
Yeah, I mean, it's a fair argument or a fair point. I think the issue with cell phone number different than our home phone growing up is the fact that it's so tied to everything now, right? Texting,
Lucky (46:45)
Yeah.
Biff (46:46)
know, it's all your accounts. Everything is tied to your cell phone. That's the slight difference. I mean, that's the point of the provocative question though, that how far are you willing to go to get rid of, potentially get
rid of a cell phone number?
Mr Fun (47:00)
Biff, Biff, would you
rather go to prison for a night or have your cell phone cell phone number tattooed on your butt?
Lucky (47:10)
That's a good one.
Biff (47:10)
I would have
my cell phone number tattooed on my butt. Yeah, know. Yeah, you like
Lucky (47:14)
Yeah. None of us are going to jail for a day. Nobody. No we have no we're not surviving. So we
Biff (47:21)
to think I'm the one that couldn't survive. I look at you two, I'm like, you're fresh meat to anybody in prison. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Lucky (47:25)
He Mr. Fun rolls into prison for a day. Hey, you want to hear some jokes? You know, and they're like, I'll give
Mr Fun (47:29)
Right. Yeah, some of
them are ra some of them are
Lucky (47:32)
you a joke, bam, effort.
Mr Fun (47:33)
kind of racist and stuff. I would get pummeled.
Biff (47:34)
I know.
He'd be sold for a pack of cigarettes before you could, before the door slammed. Mr. Fun, do we have a joke to wrap up the show?
Mr Fun (47:45)
Okay, we have a joke, and I would like to remind people that this is the risque part of the show. And I would think that you could do those like earmuffs on on children. so I I was thinking about my first girlfriend today. I wrote this joke. I was thinking about my first girlfriend today, and she was a colorful lass, a colorful young lady, and she she said she wanted to be an artist. So we nicknamed her Paint. Everybody called her Paint. And you know, we dated for a little while and then
She dumped me for a much more experienced guy. He was you know, he like he was more experienced in many different genres and you know, all I knew how to do was finger paint.
Biff (48:23)
stop. Goodness
Lucky (48:24)
Ha ha.
Biff (48:24)
gracious. What is wrong with you?
I've had many conversations about how our jokes don't use dirty words anymore, but you still take it to the limit. Okay,
Mr Fun (48:33)
What? I don't understand what you're thinking. I don't understand.
Biff (48:36)
all right, we're gonna, lucky if others have the same reaction I had, how do they get ahold of us?
