Biff (00:10)
Hello everybody. Welcome to another week of Laugh Smartly with your hosts Biff Lucky and Mr. Fun. Good to be with everybody. Good to see you guys. Mr. Fun, we're gonna do it again. Why don't you start us out with a joke?

Mr Fun (00:22)
I I accidentally swallowed a this weekend I accidentally swallowed a book of words that sound similar and it gave me a really it gave me the s the thorough throat I've ever had. The

Biff (00:39)
Sorry.

Mr Fun (00:40)
the thor

Lucky (00:40)
Ha ha.

Mr Fun (00:41)
throat I ever had.

the sorest throat I ever had. That's it. Sorry. It's hard to say,

Biff (00:45)
Ya yes, that's right.

Mr Fun (00:47)
it's a little bit of a tongue twister.

Biff (00:49)
When's I was like, when's the last time you said thesaurus? So that's a

Mr Fun (00:52)
The source.

Biff (00:53)
it's it's been it's been a long time. So that's

Lucky (00:55)
The last time he had a sore throat.

Mr Fun (00:57)
I don't know

ma whether it makes it funnier with my lack of pronunciation or not, 'cause it's not a funny joke, but we're starting off good here. Let's go.

Biff (01:02)
Yeah.

That's good. once again, Rockfish let us in with Mrs. Funn. again, thank you, Rockfish, for bringing us that song. additionally, as I said before, he's got some shows coming up down in the Northern Neck area of Virginia. Again, Northern Neck being between the Rappa Rappahannock and the Potomac River. Just so we know where they we are geographically there and it's on the schedule. I think this this show is on Saturday night.

he's actually playing a show this afternoon on Saturday. So hopefully that went well. I see Lucky with so Scotties on his head. I've got a tackle up, so does Mr. Fun. Those our two sponsors. Again, Scotty's vodka. We have a tailgate this weekend, University of Maryland versus V the Virginia Tech Hokies, big game in College Park, Maryland, where Scotties will be flowing among with other things. So we're pleased to have Scotty's Vodka Maryland made Maryland Smooth and then Tackle Up.

For performance fishing gear. I read their local newspaper, I saw a tackle up ad. I said, Hey, we have a part to play in that. Tackle up bb dot com. Again, type in the code Laugh fifteen for a fifteen percent off. So that's where we are with

Mr Fun (02:11)
Hey, give me the highlights. What did the what did

what did the article say? Anything fun? About Takala? nice. Okay, good. Good. Great place to shop.

Biff (02:16)
No, it was not an article. It was just an ad. It was an advertisement. I'm sorry if I if I if I said

Mr Fun (02:21)
Great clothing.

Biff (02:22)
it is. we we like wearing it. So once again, a very busy week. But you know, we had a few things going on last week. let me just start with one quick one because it came up on the last show, which is from something that was raised two weeks ago, which is the dog. The the the dog that we rescued, the skunky dog as it's known. Well, I also named Spot. I did find out.

That the dog was adopted from the brandy wine SPCA in Georgetown, Delaware. So that makes me happy

Lucky (02:49)
Good news.

Biff (02:50)
that

Mr Fun (02:50)
Awesome.

Biff (02:51)
that the dog was adopted and makes b Mrs. Biff even happier that we do not have a pit bull as a second dog in our household. So that's a quick recap on that. And then another one, which again goes back to something that's been going on for a couple months, where Mr. Funn raised the specter of hey, if you just asked somebody for a dollar, would they give you a dollar? I got a dollar sent to me by April B.

So I'm up to two

Lucky (03:15)
Mm.

Biff (03:15)
bucks. I've

Mr Fun (03:16)
Wow.

Biff (03:17)
got Steve and April B have given me two dollars. I think I'm in the clubhouse tied for Clubhouse lead with Mr. Fun at this point in time. Again. It's

Mr Fun (03:24)
I'm gonna have to increase my fundraising activities. I'm gonna have to increase

Lucky (03:26)
Did she give

Mr Fun (03:27)
them.

Lucky (03:27)
you a paper dollar or did she Venmo you a dollar?

Biff (03:30)
She Venmoed me a dollar. So I have I have been Venmo'd two dollars. Again, there is it was so what's it for? I said, it's not for anything. You're just to give me a dollar and the dollar was given to me. So that's that's working. So I I'm there and Lucky is still batting zero, I believe, in the dollar thing.

Lucky (03:48)
Yeah,

I have not sent out the the bad signal that I need a dollar. So maybe I should to try to get on the leaderboard here, but I don't know, we'll see. Any any of the generous people that have funded Mr. Fun and Biff can also send me a dollar if you're you know, if if you're if you're s feeling generous, so

Biff (04:07)
and then the final thing for me, which is just a very local Delaware thing here in Sussex County, I noticed during the election that there's a guy on the ballot who legally changed his name to E. Dot. I guess E must be his first name, but he changed his name to No Trump Hansen. He legally changed his name to No Trump. I'm not sure that's the while he was Yale educated, I'm not sure he's the smartest person from Yale ever to do that.

Lucky (04:36)
Now does he

Biff (04:36)
So I don't know.

Lucky (04:37)
does he go okay, so he uses the no Trump to probably garner some votes. does he change his name after the election?

Biff (04:45)
I don't know. He's he's running for Senate, which is the it's the Chris Coons is the the senator that he's running against. he's he's running as a Democrat, as you can imagine, and no Trump. I I don't imagine you would, I I suppose. It it's just odd to me that somebody has done that.

Mr Fun (05:01)
What's his last name again?

Biff (05:03)
Hansen.

Mr Fun (05:05)
that reminds those are the five worst words. Those are the five words no man ever wants to hear. Hello, my name is Chris Hansen. You never want to hear that. You never want to hear that.

Biff (05:12)
that's right.

Lucky (05:15)
Where what what what state was it that there was a election where the there were two people with the same exact name on the ballot?

Biff (05:21)
It's

it's Alaska.

Mr Fun (05:22)
Alaska.

Biff (05:24)
It's Alaska and that that election hasn't happened yet. And it's two re it's two Republicans, I believe, have the same name just divide dis separated by one initial, I believe. And I c I ca yeah. No, it's a it's it's a guy it's

Mr Fun (05:36)
I thought it was a Democrat and a Republican. Maybe okay.

Biff (05:39)
a guy registered as a Republican. But they have

Mr Fun (05:42)
Got it.

Biff (05:43)
they they have I might I might be wrong in that. He might be independent, but they have ranked choice voting in Alaska, which is the most confusing confusing thing in the world.

Where you pick a first choice, second choice, and a third choice. And depending on how it it washes out, it's really can confuse that that race. but it's he's got the same name. There's two of the same name in Alaska. So there you have it. There's our political segment of

the show, which

Mr Fun (06:07)
Nice, thank you.

Biff (06:07)
which we don't talk politics, so all we did was just give names at this point in time. So good. What else is going on, Lucky from last week?

Lucky (06:15)
Well, okay. So if you remember our story last week about the naked DoorDash driver. And

Biff (06:23)
Mm-hmm.

Lucky (06:23)
I was like, you know, if it was my theory was so this guy, you know, was getting crazy d delivering DoorDash naked. It was a male. And my theory was if it was a female, people wouldn't have been so up in arms. Okay. So

Biff (06:36)
Mm-hmm.

Lucky (06:37)
I st I queried a bunch of an unofficial did an unofficial survey of our friends and

There's a number of people with like don't even care. I mean, you think it would sort of be funny. I mean, he doesn't those people don't want the naked DoorDash driver in their house. But if they're just dropping off some food and they're wanna be, you know, get their freak on by being naked, so be it. And some of them would would even pay if it was a woman, the males that I asked. So they pay extra, like a fee, a surcharge for for a naked naked delivery. So

Mr Fun (07:09)
There was

a there was a I did a open mic and w a very attractive female comic got up there and said, if I if I'm funny, I'll get naked. And I never laugh so hard in my life. I never laughed so hard in my life. Yeah. She wasn't that funny,

Biff (07:24)
I was gonna tell you the the the play on words.

Lucky (07:23)
That's pretty good.

Mr Fun (07:26)
but she wasn't that funny, but I just laughed and laughed.

Biff (07:29)
If a

if a male nak naked a male DoorDash driver is naked, that is a surcharge, right? But boom. Is is wouldn't that

Mr Fun (07:36)
sure.

Lucky (07:35)
That's the surcharge, yeah.

Biff (07:37)
be so let me ask this. So okay, we all get Amazon deliveries. So do we what if it was an Amazon delivery person delivering your package naked to you? What would you

Mr Fun (07:49)
Same thing.

Biff (07:49)
think? Really?

Lucky (07:51)
I think there would be more of an impact if it was food they were delivering, which I think we talked about last week, versus just

Biff (07:57)
Okay.

Lucky (07:58)
if I'm getting my toothpaste delivered, I you know, and it's in double all this Amazon packaging, I don't care if he's naked or not, or he or she. No.

Biff (08:06)
Really?

It's interesting perspective why you would be okay with food being delivered by a naked guy, but not a package of toothpaste.

Lucky (08:15)
I I would much I would it my like I d it doesn't bother me either way, but I would probably have more issue with the food than I would toothpaste. Yeah.

Biff (08:26)
okay. But who do

Mr Fun (08:26)
There's actually

Biff (08:27)
you think

Mr Fun (08:27)
a ser go ahead, sorry, go ahead.

Biff (08:29)
I was gonna say, who do you think would be more attractive between the Amazon delivery drivers and the DoorDash drivers? If you had to say they were female.

Lucky (08:36)
The Amazon guys

Biff (08:37)
Say they were female, just to keep in your stay in your wheelhouse. Who do you think

Mr Fun (08:41)
Door dash because

they don't have to be able to lift heavy things. I think. Yeah.

Biff (08:45)
Okay. Okay. All right. Good.

Lucky (08:47)
There's some a good

looking Amazon delivery people, at least in my neighborhood. Now most they're mostly men, but they they all seem fit and, you know,

can k carry stuff.

Biff (08:53)
Ha ha ha

Mr Fun (08:54)
Interesting. Interesting comment.

There's a service that does the opposite. If you ever find yourself naked, you can go online and they'll do immediate delivery of clothes. It's called pajamas on. Pajamason.

Biff (09:09)
Pajamas on. Pajamas on. Nice. That's a that's good. It's good.

Lucky (09:10)
Pajamas on. Okay.

Mr Fun (09:11)
Yeah. Pajamas on. Thank you.

Lucky (09:17)
All right. here's a so I cut well before we get to s a story that has to do with this the nakedness.

Mr Fun (09:25)
Okay.

Lucky (09:27)
it is are you guys a pu you guys fans of pirates? You like pirates

Mr Fun (09:31)
Yeah.

Lucky (09:32)
or not?

Mr Fun (09:33)
Yeah. I I don't dis

Biff (09:34)
Yeah, I

Mr Fun (09:35)
I don't dislike them.

Biff (09:36)
Yes. I I I

Lucky (09:37)
Okay.

Biff (09:38)
can't say I I give have given it much thought, but I like Pirates of the Caribbean. I like the you know, the ride at Disneyland, Disney World that has to do with pirates. the

Lucky (09:47)
Okay. So

Biff (09:48)
Pittsb the Pittsburgh Pirates don't upset me, I suppose.

Mr Fun (09:51)
Right.

Lucky (09:51)
okay.

It is national talk like a pirate day this weekend. So I would highly encourage you as you're walking around to give a I Matey to someone or maybe your j favor your best Jack Sparrow impersonation. Cause you know, to celebrate, you know, I am a big Jack Sparrow fan. I like the pirates of the Caribbean. He's my favorite pirate. But anyway, I just thought I'd throw that out there. You know, you know, I madey is is is okay this weekend.

Mr Fun (10:18)
There was a a

pirate who was created like it was artificial intelligence and he was Captain AI. Captain AI.

Biff (10:26)
Nice. Do you remember and

Lucky (10:27)
That's pretty good. That's pretty good.

Biff (10:28)
and speaking of Pirates of the Caribbean, so the do you the first movie when it came out was all about parlay. Remember there's a whole thing about parlay? And and I it was one of those things that I didn't know what it meant when they kept saying it, but it was almost like it was like it's like in the old game of hide and go seek when you got on base. If you said base or you got to base, it like everything else went away. Like you couldn't get captured or whatever it was.

Parlay was that same way, and I'm not sure I've ever heard it again. Besides, it's a bet, a parlay. You know what I'm talking about with parlay? When they say parlay. But

Lucky (11:03)
I don't remember that word in the movie.

Biff (11:05)
it has to do like so when when Jack was about to be captured or the Kira Knightley character was about to be captured, they would say something like parlay, and then the pirates couldn't do anything about it. It was just bizarre to me. So if I don't know. Go back and watch it. I just remember I watched it not too long ago in the movie. and they they said parlay. So

Mr Fun (11:21)
Huh. I'm drawing a I'm

drawing a total plank on that.

Biff (11:26)
Total plank. That's good.

Lucky (11:28)
Okay, and the other

plug real quick, Bruise and Ruse this weekend at Coastal Wilds in Frankfurt is having it's like a craft beer festival, but they have live kangaroos. If you guys, anyone interested in it that's down at the down at the beach area wants to go see some live kangaroos.

Biff (11:42)
I I drive

by that place all the time. It's on my

Lucky (11:45)
Yeah.

Biff (11:45)
way to my my parents' house. And they used to Coastal Wilds used to down by Somersault, which was in Bethany Beach by Finns, anybody that is familiar with that. W probably s eight, nine years ago, they used to take one of the wallabies over there and you could pet the wallaby at you know on the street corner there. It was actually kind of cool. So it it seems like a pretty popular place. So brews and ruse wouldn't be the the worst thing to to attend on a

weekend. I

Mr Fun (12:10)
They're big.

They're the big guys or are they little Joeys? What are they?

Lucky (12:14)
I don't think they're like the the six foot tall ones. I think they're the little ones. Yep.

Mr Fun (12:18)
Got it. I can honestly

Biff (12:19)
I don't know. I don't

know.

Mr Fun (12:20)
say I've never been very close to a a a real kangaroo. Can you pet them or will they punch you? You

Lucky (12:26)
You can touch I think.

Mr Fun (12:28)
can.

Lucky (12:28)
Yeah.

Biff (12:28)
Yeah,

I I mean the the little ones that they had, which again may have been a wallaby, whatever, you know, miniature kangaroo if you want to call it that, they were that you could hold it. It was so light. I mean, I just remember how light it was. Obviously it wasn't, you know, muscular like the kangaroos that you think are gonna punch you out, if you if you get too close, but it was it they were it's cool. It's a cool animal. So good good thing to do.

Lucky (12:50)
Yeah.

Okay, going back to the naked thing. I don't know if you guys saw this. And I I I did not see this in the news until today, but it happened happened earlier this week. there was a woman arrested on a flight that was going from BWI to Miami because she stripped naked and was performing indecent acts on the flight.

Biff (13:17)
Should we name

Lucky (13:17)
So

Mr Fun (13:17)
Well she

Biff (13:18)
should we name the guess the airline? Spirit no longer exists. I'm gonna guess allegiant air. I'm just gonna

Lucky (13:22)
So, so

Biff (13:24)
guess it.

Lucky (13:25)
I am a new

Mr Fun (13:25)
No idea.

Lucky (13:26)
fan of American Airlines. As if anybody's been listening, I'm a like I've I've really down on American Airlines. It was an American Airlines flight 1779 going from UWI to Miami. at some point during the flight, a flight attendant had notified the cockpit that a passenger had stripped naked and was engaging in in what they deemed indecent acts in front of passengers.

The flight continued. They didn't they didn't know what to do. Now, protocol is if a passenger becomes unruly on a flight, flight attendants have the authority to physically restrain someone, but they didn't physically r restrain this woman. She just kept doing her thing the whole flight down, which I think is like a roughly three-hour flight.

Mr Fun (14:09)
Did they arrest her afterwards?

Lucky (14:11)
She they did arrest her when she when she when she landed in Miami. and she's probably getting, I don't know.

There's probably all kinds of federal laws that she violated.

Mr Fun (14:21)
Maybe she was an Uber driver. An Uber delivery person. What was she? What

Biff (14:23)
Door dash driver. DoorDash.

Mr Fun (14:25)
were the loot acts? They didn't really define them?

Lucky (14:28)
She she it she began acting indecently in front of other past travelers.

Mr Fun (14:32)
Indecent act, sorry.

Lucky (14:34)
Maybe she was twerking, maybe she was, you know,

Mr Fun (14:36)
Wow.

Lucky (14:37)
dry humping people. I who knows, you know. I mean, whatever she was doing.

Mr Fun (14:41)
I like sleeping naked, but flight attendants never never let me do that. They never let me do that. Yeah, so I can sympathize with her.

Biff (14:50)
There was a there was another passenger last week I saw it for I forgot what he did, but they had I had seen the pictures of them. Some I guess they keep duct tape, you know, the silver stuff on the plane. Did you see the one where the guy had they had his whole head taped to the headrest,

Lucky (15:05)
Mm-hmm.

Biff (15:05)
and then his hands, he had the the plastic things binding his hands together. But they I've never seen so much tape used on a single individual, and he was on an airplane.

For the rest of the flight. I wonder if they were contemplating doing that with the woman that was stripping on the American Airlines flight. Yeah

Lucky (15:23)
Mm they yeah, I

don't know. I mean maybe some people enjoyed the show, maybe some people didn't, but you know, that one guy probably who got taped, he probably was disturbing everyone. So they decided to tape him up.

Biff (15:34)
Maybe th maybe they

used duct tape as pasties for her. I don't know. Maybe so you never

Mr Fun (15:40)
I

Lucky (15:39)
could be.

Mr Fun (15:40)
I was doom scrolling the other day and I just started laughing out loud because I saw this like I guess they were a bunch of fraternity guys sitting around and one guy's kinda dozing off and the other guy takes his like dirty, stinky foot and puts it in his face, and then another guy runs behind him and just duct tapes his foot to the guy's face and it made

me laugh out loud. It was the guy's screaming.

He can't really scream because he's got a foot near his mouth. And he's just yeah. So I'm gonna do that

Lucky (16:05)
The things that

Mr Fun (16:05)
to you. I'm gonna do that to you guys next time you fall asleep.

Lucky (16:08)
The things that

Mr Fun (16:08)
I what

Lucky (16:09)
college students do in their first two weeks of school when they don't have homework or tests, right?

Mr Fun (16:13)
Right, right. It's

good stuff.

Lucky (16:17)
okay, and we all we we're big pet fans here. the other story that I saw was which was I found really interesting. So I think last year Girl Scouts introduced some new different cookies. Every year they maybe come out with a new variation or whatever. last year I think they had a couple couple new ones. Anyway, so this year, man's best friend is getting some love from the Girl Scouts. They announced this past week that they're gonna have a cookie for dogs.

That'll start going on on sale in January. Which I thought think is interesting. It's a blueberry muffin flavored cookie. it was developed with Bark, which is like some New York-based seller of dog treats and toys. And it's the the cookie's name's PatchPales. So, and it'll only be sold online. So, I'm it's this is also this is a funny news story, but it's also a service announcement for those of you who are big Girl Scout cookie fans.

The patch pails are for the dogs, not f don't try to eat them to yourselves, 'cause you may make a mistake.

Biff (17:16)
Right. I yeah, that that strikes me as one of the problems with that, that people are going to get these boxes and I'm sure it will have the disclaimers, but yeah, there's gonna be people eating those cookies for the duck.

Mr Fun (17:28)
We should do it on the show.

We should try We should try

Biff (17:31)
So you're gonna go when so you do do kids still knock on your door, Mr. Funn, or is or you're the buy at the grocery store or somebody brings it the sheet to your office, sort of guy for girls.

Mr Fun (17:40)
I've been buying them when I

see the the I I want it to be entrepreneurial. When they're outside sitting at a table and they

have the boxes there, they work hard. I always buy. I always buy when I see that.

Biff (17:51)
Yeah. Do you lucky, do you buy Girl Scout cookies?

Lucky (17:53)
one hundred

percent. Yeah, well, it's funny. The last couple of years I haven't had people knock, but the 'cause I guess the girls have aged out of Girl Scouts, but the

Biff (18:01)
Right.

Lucky (18:01)
the ones have knocked on the door. But yeah, I used to I'm the the I have a lot of kids in my neighborhood. So of course if they're out, you know, enterprising and knocking on doors and selling their wares, I'd

Biff (18:12)
Okay.

Lucky (18:12)
I'd like to support

Mr Fun (18:13)
Y you know, in a related story, I read this story about this little green man. Well, he was a man, but he was born and his skin was green. And a girl scout came up to his door and asked him to buy some cookies, but he had just gotten out of the shower. So he was wearing just a towel. And he he shocked her by revealing himself in front of her. And she saw his green body, his naked green body and his green manhood, and she ran down the stairs and

ran halfway across the street, unfortunately got hit by a car. And the lesson there is never try to cross the street when the green the little green man is flashing you. Is flashing. When the little me green man is flashing, you don't want to run a

Biff (18:50)
The the green man is flashing. Jeez.

So did you so w Jeez. Now would you buy and now you have a cap, Lucky, so you're not buying Girl Scout

Lucky (19:00)
Yes.

Biff (19:01)
dog biscuits. Mr. Fun, are you gonna buy Girl Scout dog biscuits?

Mr Fun (19:05)
My uncle would roll

over in his grave. This man had a garbage can filled with what he called dog food. Who knows

Biff (19:11)
Right.

Mr Fun (19:11)
what that was? And it was probably a dollar to fill the garbage can. He had you the treat for the dogs was you'd throw a big beef bone at If he if

Biff (19:20)
Right.

Mr Fun (19:20)
he if he even heard rumors that there were Girl Scout cookies for dogs. No, I wouldn't I I know my wife may, but I get suckered into thinking about it. Like when I go to the bakery and there's

Biff (19:30)
Yeah.

Mr Fun (19:31)
like

Biff (19:31)
The dog basket, yeah, yeah.

Mr Fun (19:31)
Dog cookies or whatever.

I'm like, maybe what am I doing? Stop it. Stop it.

Biff (19:35)
Yeah. Yeah.

I mean I went to Pecco

Lucky (19:37)
Okay.

Biff (19:38)
Petco today and they've got the the glazed dog treats. I'm like, huh,

Mr Fun (19:42)
Yeah.

Biff (19:43)
not sure. Not sure.

Lucky (19:44)
Yeah,

the multi-billion dollar industry, right? They're of course hitting every angle. They they do have another Girl Scout cookie this year, though, that's new. It's called Sparkables. It's the first allergy friendly cookie. So it's like some kind of oatmeal

Biff (19:57)
Okay, allergy friendly.

Lucky (19:59)
cookie. it's got chocolate chips and sprinkles in it. but I I mean, I guess.

Mr Fun (20:05)
What is this world

coming to? Give me a what are they called? Thin mint cookie that I have my choice of you putting it in the freezer or not. And

Biff (20:13)
Yeah, exactly.

Mr Fun (20:14)
and those they they added the peanut butter ones that I like. What are those called? Are they the Yeah, and that's all I need. I'm a simple man, that's all I need. That's all I

Biff (20:18)
Yeah. Tag alongs. I like some I like Samoas. Samoas are good, so So hey,

Lucky (20:19)
Tag alongs.

Biff (20:27)
so we're talking about dogs, I found this to be interesting. I'm gonna ask you guys, what do you think the number one dog breed in the US is? Number one dog breed. You could think of the popular dog breeds that are out there. The number one dog breed.

Lucky (20:41)
Let's say

Biff (20:42)
Can I give you a hint? Because I don't think you're getting it. It's sort of tied to what was most recently the number one beer in the US. Remember

Mr Fun (20:51)
What?

Biff (20:52)
when the when what is it? Chihuahua

Lucky (20:52)
I know what it is. Yeah, I Chihuahua.

Biff (20:56)
the number one dog breed in the US.

Lucky (20:58)
Yes.

Biff (20:59)
It's

Mr Fun (20:59)
Again,

man mankind, especially America, is going downhill. Downhill.

Lucky (21:03)
Is that right?

Biff (21:04)
Right. Yeah,

it's it's Chihuahua. The former number one Labrador retriever has dropped to number three. French Bulldog is number two, retaking its twenty twenty four position. The Yorkshire Terrier climbed to number four and the Shih Tzu rose from eight to number five, right? Most interestingly is what are the top dog breeds in the States? Right? So we'll go to we'll do the Del Marva Peninsula.

What do you think the number one dog of Delaware is?

Mr Fun (21:35)
A a lab, labadors.

Biff (21:37)
It is, the Labrador Retriever, number one. Good job. Yep.

Mr Fun (21:39)
I guess at that, but I'm happy there. I'm happy.

Biff (21:42)
and then number two is a French Bulldog, number three is a Shih Tzu. Let's go to Maryland. Maryland, lucky, what you think the number one dog in Maryland is?

Lucky (21:52)
I would guess lab.

Biff (21:54)
it would not be that. It would be a York it would be a Yorkie, a Yorkshire Terrier. That's right.

Mr Fun (21:58)
you're yeah, wow.

Lucky (21:58)
gosh, come on.

Biff (22:00)
And then number two is a Shih Tzu and number three is a Labrador Retriever. Let's go to the southern part of the Del Marva and also on the d the V of DMV. Virginia. What do you think the number one dog in Virginia is?

Mr Fun (22:13)
A poodle.

Lucky (22:15)
Be go.

Biff (22:16)
It's a Labrador retriever. You were yeah, that and number

Mr Fun (22:18)
look at that.

Lucky (22:18)
let's

Biff (22:19)
two is a Yorkie and number three is a golden retriever. even Washington, DC, which makes sense for this because there's not a lot of land. I'll just give it to you. It's a Yorkie. And then number two in Washington, DC, American Pit Bull Terrier. That

Mr Fun (22:32)
Yeah. Yeah.

Lucky (22:33)
jeez.

Biff (22:34)
again, not surprising.

Mr Fun (22:35)
Do they give you like the number? Like is it tens of thousands? Like or no, there's no number.

Biff (22:42)
There there's no numbers. This is a a courtesy of US News and World Report. So it does

Mr Fun (22:46)
Just for giggles,

can you give me like a Montana or an Alaska? Like is that a big dog?

Biff (22:51)
I can do that. I can

Lucky (22:52)
Huskies.

Biff (22:52)
I can do it.

Let's hope it is. Alaska is a Labrador Retriever, two German Shepherd and three golden retriever. Montana, give me a qua twelve seconds here. You get in Montana, you get a lab, a golden retriever, and a German Shepherd. I don't see any huskies anywhere. you know.

Mr Fun (23:10)
Now where would you predict

they're very small dogs? Like how about like Connecticut or Rhode Island? That's my best guess.

Biff (23:15)
Okay,

Lucky (23:15)
California

Biff (23:15)
well go

Lucky (23:16)
'cause they all have the bag dogs. That's

Mr Fun (23:18)
really?

Biff (23:19)
Rhode Island, Mr. Funn was on to something. All small dogs. Shitsu, Chihuahua, Yorkie. All small

Mr Fun (23:25)
Yeah, yeah.

Biff (23:27)
dogs there. So, you know, I don't know. It's interesting, but it's how how the dog breeds work. You know, way back when, remember, you know, there would be no pit bull. It would have been probably a Doberman or something like that, or or what was the one with the started with an R. it was a Rottweiler so there you have it.

Mr Fun (23:44)
Wow, that's good breaking that's good intel right there. I

Biff (23:47)
Perfect. Good.

Biff (23:49)
For anyone that listened to the show last week on WGMD's 98.5, The Talk in Del Marva, on Sunday, notice that we actually led into football. WGMD has the the NFL game of the week. So we did last week, and we didn't give it much of a preamble, we did some football picks. first time we've, I think, ever done it on the show, actually, for low these 194 episodes, we've done this. but we actually did some picks.

which we'll recap here in a matter of moments, but the reason we did is because we lead into football. So I just real quickly, we are going to pick four games each week and they're going to be tied to either the Commanders, the Ravens, the Eagles, and for Mr. Fun, the New York Jets. His childhood Jay who

Mr Fun (24:34)
The J E T S New York Jets, Jets, Jets.

Biff (24:37)
who

Lucky (24:37)
Wanna know, Jets?

Biff (24:38)
yeah, who ca and who they're chesty already. It's one game, Jets fans. You did

Mr Fun (24:42)
Scariest

team in football, scariest offense, incredible defense, scariest team in football.

Biff (24:45)
Okay. So but but before

we get to those peaks, let's just recap the games from last week. Again, the Commanders played the Eagles. and the fact is is that me, I took the Eagles. You two took the Commanders, and you both and you both lost. Okay?

Mr Fun (25:01)
Biggest mistake. I knew I should not have done that.

Biff (25:05)
Just so we're clear on that. It doesn't matter

Lucky (25:05)
Did we take them with the spread or did we take them straight up?

Biff (25:08)
anyways. The spread they covered the spread anyways. It was five and a half

Lucky (25:11)
Okay.

Biff (25:11)
points. All right. The next game.

Was the Ravens against the Colts, and we all won that game. We all took the

Lucky (25:17)
Mm-hmm.

Biff (25:17)
Ravens that point. The third game was the Jets against the Titans. And Lucky and I took the Titans. It was in Nashville, and the Jets covered and walloped them, so to speak,

Mr Fun (25:29)
Have

Biff (25:29)
down in Nashville. So Lucky coming out of the week is one and two. I am two and one, and Mr. Funn is two and one. But let's get to this week's games. Again, another NFC East.

Tilt Dallas versus Washington in ATT stadium

Lucky (25:47)
Mm.

Biff (25:47)
in Dallas. And the Cowboys are giving three and a half points to the commanders. Who you taking, Lucky?

Lucky (25:55)
both teams did not look good this past week, or the first week of the season. It's in Dallas. Dallas I think is gonna win that game. So I'm taking Dallas. Although I put

Mr Fun (26:07)
Wow.

Lucky (26:08)
I'm gonna pour I'm gonna pull for Washington.

Biff (26:10)
Okay. All right. Mr. Funn, I know who you're taking.

Mr Fun (26:12)
Yeah, the Commanders don't

yeah, the Commanders don't win a game this year. I'm going with with the Cowboys.

Biff (26:18)
Okay, the spread's three and a half. I'm actually going to take Washington in the points. I'm going to do something slightly different then. I I I may. I may. But

Mr Fun (26:22)
So you'll have another loss. So all right, let's go.

Biff (26:26)
again, it's three and a half points as I read it now. The next game is in Nashville again, Tennessee against Philadelphia. Philadelphia giving four and a half points to the Tennessee Titans. Lucky, who do you got?

Lucky (26:40)
I think the I'm gonna take the Eagles on the road. I I think Tennessee

Biff (26:43)
Okay.

Lucky (26:43)
has got a young team. they're still trying to find themselves. And Eagles, you know, I think have that first week underneath their belt. I think they're gonna win that game.

Biff (26:53)
Yep, it's fun.

Mr Fun (26:54)
Eagles look good. The there i if there are no tornadoes in Tennessee because there's very few touchdowns. There's very few touchdowns.

Biff (27:02)
Yep. And

I will quickly take, I will take the Eagles as well. Third game, Baltimore at home versus New Orleans, giving eight and a half points to the New Orleans Saints. if I recall correctly, New Orleans barely lost to the Lions in Detroit. But the fact of the matter is Baltimore's giving eight and a half at home. Who are you taking off?

Lucky (27:24)
And we're not picking we're not picking against the spread?

Biff (27:26)
You can pick against the spread. I took the spread in the Washington game.

Mr Fun (27:29)
No, no. He's saying

we just have to pick the winner, right?

Biff (27:33)
no, I see with the spread. Yeah.

Lucky (27:34)
with the spread.

I think the Ravens cover that.

Biff (27:38)
Okay.

All right. Good. Mr. Funn. Okay.

Mr Fun (27:40)
Me too. Me too.

Biff (27:42)
And I will I will say that as well. So we are going to be the same on that. All right. And then finally, the J E T S Jets, Jets, Jets at home against Green Bay. Interestingly, the Packers are giving the Jets three and a half points, and the Packers lost last week. so

Mr Fun (27:59)
I know I know.

Biff (28:02)
I find that to be a bit odd. So, but Lucky, who do you got?

Lucky (28:07)
Ooh, Green Bay is defense is a little suspect. I think I I I might have to go with the Jets there. I'm gonna go with the Jets at home with the points.

Biff (28:22)
Okay.

Lucky (28:23)
I don't think Green Bay is Green Bay is sort of like a paper tiger in a way, so I'm going Jets.

Biff (28:28)
Okay. And Mr. Funn.

Mr Fun (28:29)
There was so

much talk about last week being a must win for the Jets 'cause they may not win their next four games, blah, blah, blah. I don't believe it. I'm taking the Jets until they

Biff (28:37)
Okay.

Mr Fun (28:38)
prove until they disappoint. I'm gonna stay with the Jets.

That's a home

Biff (28:41)
All right, there you go.

Mr Fun (28:42)
home team pick right there.

Biff (28:45)
I almost feel like going contrarian just so we don't have a sweep here all across the board here. but I already took the contrarian one with thing. I will take the Jets as well. So we will follow back up and we will keep a yearly tally on these four games.

Mr Fun (28:59)
Can we make one other rule?

Biff (29:00)
What's that?

Mr Fun (29:01)
When being manly and targing football, I would like to eliminate contrarian from from our vocabularies. Yeah, no. No.

Lucky (29:07)
No no long words over like eight eight letters or

Biff (29:07)
we all right.

All right, well you stop. So

Lucky (29:11)
less.

Biff (29:13)
on a related note, I'm gonna get to a would you rather here in a second.

Mr Fun (29:17)
Okay.

Biff (29:17)
I was listening to the SVP Scott Vampelt podcast, who did at twelve forty five in the morning on Sunday morning, so after the Saturday night college football games, which the big comeback of the year was Texas was down twenty three to three and they beat Ohio State in

Mr Fun (29:32)
Amazing.

Biff (29:33)
in Austin.

But the the thing that struck me as I was listening the podcast is Scott Van Pelk gets paid a lot of money. He does, he gets paid because he's on ESPN. He has a lot of late night stuff, right? I think his real show's on at 11 Eastern time. So, but my wouldn't you rather is sort of related to the fact of making money. So here it is. Would you rather earn $2 million a year, but you have to go to work between 3 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the morning, or earn one million dollars a year.

And go to work nine to five. What would you rather do? That's my question to you. You can make more Okay, not the answer, not not what we're looking for, Mr. Funn. We've had these discussions before, but what would you rather do?

Mr Fun (30:09)
Can I earn nothing and not go to work anymore? That's not that's not not a choice. Yes.

Lucky (30:18)
Now, is the job

the same job? It's just a different time of the day.

Biff (30:21)
I would just say it's the same job. All things being equal, the job is the same. One just has appreciably worse hours, right? Yeah.

Mr Fun (30:29)
I I'll go first. So I don't

golf, so I don't need daylight. I my kids are all like I'm not gonna miss any games or sports like that. I'll I'll I'll work the midnight shift for double the money.

Biff (30:41)
You it's not the midnight shift, just so we're clear. It's not the it's not the midnight shift. Three AM to eleven AM.

Mr Fun (30:43)
I know. I know. Give me the hours again. I gotta go to work at what? One? Three AM? I get off at what?

Yeah, yeah. So wait, I have all afternoon and stuff? if I

Biff (30:53)
Yeah, but you are

s you are your evenings are toast. You can't do anything in the evening, ever.

Mr Fun (30:56)
Yeah, well I go

to bed at I go to bed at eight or nine, right? Monday Monday through Friday.

Biff (31:01)
I don't know, to get to get to a job at three

AM, you're gonna go to bed by seven or eight, I would imagine. You're not gonna have any social life. I'm giving away my answer here. All right, Lucky, what

Mr Fun (31:06)
You're gonna pay me another million bucks a year to do that, I'm mad. Stop I don't ever I don't have a social life anyway. I don't have a social life.

Biff (31:14)
would you do?

Lucky (31:15)
I I'm in along the lines of what Mr. Fun said. I would g I would go to sleep at eight PM every night, maybe s maybe nine, during the week. I'm assuming this is a Monday through Friday job.

Biff (31:26)
Yes, yep.

Lucky (31:27)
so and then I would get my six or seven hours of sleep that way and make double the money. And I would have a good I'd have to all the whole afternoon to do fun stuff. Golf, you know, whatever. So, so yeah, and run errands or whatever. So

You know, I'm I'm going I'm taking the double money.

Biff (31:47)
Yeah, I I'm I I I'm not gonna say contrarian, Mr. Fung, because you'll make fun of me again. But I think that it's not worth the I'm not an om one, I'm not a morning person. So the fact of doing that at 3 a.m., which means you gotta leave the house at two thirty. Let's just call it that if you're gonna commute somewhere, is is just it's no life. I you know, I I think that the it's I'm not sure it's worth it to close off.

What are the social parts of your life which is in the evening?

Mr Fun (32:19)
You know, Biff, in my world, three AM is just late night. It's just late night.

Biff (32:22)
Okay.

Well that's a flip of it though. So I would say to you I would take the two million if I was working eight PM to three in the morning. That's a different story.

Mr Fun (32:32)
Right. Right.

Biff (32:34)
I'd be probably okay with that. Or nine PM to four in the morning.

Mr Fun (32:36)
Yeah.

Lucky (32:36)
Well, but but here's the thing.

Most most Monday most workers Monday through

don't

Biff (32:42)
huh.

Lucky (32:42)
go out, but don't have a like a really a social life on Monday through Friday anyway. So that's not what you're you're you're not really missing anything there. and number two, you be you like you're not gonna really have a life. Well, you'd have a life with all the other ding dongs that are working three to three AM to eleven P eleven AM, right? You

Biff (33:00)
Yeah, I'm

well I'm not sure how many people that would be. This is just a a a discrete yeah, this job versus that job, right? Or the same job at different time frames. I just don't I just I ha I struggle with that fact of of really closing down some portion of your life. I j I just I just struggle with that. So that I don't

Mr Fun (33:16)
All right, all right.

Lucky (33:17)
Yeah.

Biff (33:19)
know. That's why I came up with that's why they're called provocative questions. So we think about it. You know, maybe

Lucky (33:22)
Yeah. Well

Biff (33:25)
if it was three million dollars, maybe, but who knows? That that's

Lucky (33:28)
Contact

at lastsmartly.com. We'd love to hear from everybody else on what your choice would be.

Mr Fun (33:32)
provocative statement.

Biff (33:34)
What's that?

Mr Fun (33:34)
So you know they say if like a woman sleeps with five guys, she's she's a bad person. She's a slut. If a she sleeps with if a man sleeps with fifty women, he's a stud. And I think that's a lot like a key. If one key can open five locks, it's not very good. But if a key can open fifty locks, it's a master lock. It's a master key. That's what I think.

Lucky (34:01)
Okay.

Lucky (34:02)
Okay, big news this past week. big announcement. Judge Judy is actually ri retiring from being an on air personality after having this incredible career on the air as in this judge jud just jud I can't even say it, Judge Judy. She's also got Judy Justice, which is another show she has. But I don't know, you guys a big fan of hers?

Biff (34:26)
I I didn't know she was still on, to be honest with you. I mean, she was sort of when we were coming out of high school, I guess, maybe into college, it was the People's Court, right? Judge Wappner, which was

Lucky (34:36)
Yep.

Biff (34:37)
famously made, was made even more famous than the movie Rain Man. And then I think Judge Judy was sort of the next in line, right? And now there's a bunch of other copycat shows. There's a lot of people's court, Judge Judy type shows. She gets paid a ton of money.

Right?

Lucky (34:52)
Forty

seven million dollar annual salary for judge duty.

Biff (34:55)
I

that's incredible to me. and

Lucky (34:58)
She

Biff (34:58)
I just looked it up online, has a net worth between four hundred and forty million to four hundred and eighty million dollars,

Lucky (35:04)
Yeah.

Biff (35:05)
Judge Judy.

Lucky (35:06)
She so she in two thousand seventeen, CBS bought the rights to her library, fifty two hundred episodes, hunt paid her a hundred million dollars for it. Yeah.

Biff (35:15)
Crazy. I was

at a this was when I was in the Rolls Royce business and I was based on the West Coast and I was at a a lunch where we were meeting with a potential client of the of the car. We were at the Mandarin Oriental in Beverly Hills, very nice hotel. And we're sitting there having lunch, and I look over and Judge Judy's at the next table. I

Mr Fun (35:36)
wow.

Biff (35:37)
mean, this was twenty years ago. I'll say this she looked old then. I

Mr Fun (35:41)
Wow.

Biff (35:42)
mean, this is I don't know how old she is now.

luck, but she is she's definitely you know, she's maxed out her working years, shall

Mr Fun (35:49)
Yeah.

Biff (35:50)
we shall we say?

Lucky (35:50)
Well, she she started as Judge Judy when at f age fifty two.

Biff (35:54)
At fifty t

Mr Fun (35:55)
wow.

Biff (35:55)
Really? And

Lucky (35:56)
Yeah. Yep.

Biff (35:57)
that that's crazy. But I you know, good for her. But do you watch those sorts of shows? Those yeah. They're usually on like the doctor's office or something.

Mr Fun (36:04)
I can only watch

a couple of minutes of but I'm totally addicted. Like I can't turn away.

Biff (36:08)
Hey Rob,

say Rob, you gotta get b little back from the microphone. You're blast us away. Here you go.

Mr Fun (36:12)
Sorry. I

am I I I'm ashamed to admit it. I can't look away. When they're on, I I

Biff (36:18)
Right.

Mr Fun (36:18)
I watch it. And then like I only watch like one case andor like I just wanna fast forward to the Yeah. So

Biff (36:24)
Yeah. It's like

Lucky (36:26)
But you know how you know how she got her start, which I I again I just did this research. So there was an in in 1993, Los Angeles Times did a profile of her as a regular judge. and some TV producers saw the article. She she she she was featured on 60 Minutes, and then from there she became Judge Judy and somebody picked her up and you know created a show for her, which is pretty interesting.

Mr Fun (36:53)
Wow.

Lucky (36:53)
So here's

Biff (36:53)
Would you

Lucky (36:54)
another.

Another interesting fact. okay, so in the j you know, in the you have the the the the two sides that are coming, she's gonna make the decision. When there's a re when she renders a financial monetary judgment, who do who pays it? Do you know?

Biff (37:10)
It's well, if if it's who pays them to the financial judgment, it w well

Lucky (37:14)
Yeah, like like

Biff (37:15)
it's either it's whoever lost, right?

Lucky (37:18)
No, the TV show's production team pays the pays for the the judgment, number one. And number two, usually the the defendant and the plaintiff are both paid to be on the show too. Which is interesting.

Mr Fun (37:31)
So it's a big win.

Biff (37:31)
So that's why

you that's why you would put yourself through that. Right. You're

Mr Fun (37:34)
Yeah.

Biff (37:34)
'cause you're potentially embarrassing yourself. Right?

Mr Fun (37:37)
Sure.

Biff (37:37)
And something like that. So I that that well, that I suppose that makes sense. She must obviously have a limit that she can award judgments on, but who knows?

Lucky (37:45)
Yeah. But

Mr Fun (37:45)
Yeah. You know, Lucky Lucky

was on that. He Lucky went in front of Judge Judy and she said, You're here for drinking and being inappropriate with women and Lucky said, Great, when do I start?

Lucky (37:55)
Yeah.

Biff (37:56)
Ha ha

ha

Lucky (37:58)
But yeah, thirty year career, ten million viewers a day watching her shows. and she hasn't actually made a like she stopped I think it was in tw twenty twenty one was the last Judge Judy show, but they but they show, you know, reruns. So I think that's a Joe show that's like similar maybe to like I Love Lucy that will just be running forever, right? I mean, 'cause I don't think people can get enough of that. And there's a ton of content. So

Biff (38:25)
Yeah, if there's

five thousand shows, right,

Lucky (38:27)
Yeah.

Biff (38:27)
it it's it's you're never gonna watch all of them, for sure. Anyways, more power to her. Very successful

Lucky (38:30)
Yep. Yeah. Yeah.

Biff (38:33)
career.

Lucky (38:33)
Yeah. Yeah. did the the other thing that happened this week was the Emmys. which again, I always I'm fascinated by TV and and movies in terms of how the these new platforms have have, you know, la landed and they're winning all these awards. So and again, I'll just tick off some of these, you know, I don't know if you guys are watching any of these shows, but

Best

drama series was The Pit. Do you guys watch

Biff (39:00)
I

Lucky (39:00)
that show?

Biff (39:01)
saw the first season

Mr Fun (39:01)
No, I didn't.

Biff (39:02)
saw the first season. It was very good. I haven't watched the second season. I know it's supposed to be very good.

Lucky (39:06)
Okay. Best comedy series won a ton of awards, Widows Bay.

Biff (39:10)
Which I've seen the previous that's on Apple, I believe. And you look at it, you're like, Well, that doesn't look funny to me. I guess it's a dark comedy of some sort and it's science fiction. I I believe Matthew Reese, is that how you pronounce his last name? He also won Best Actor in two shows I did read that. So who knows?

Lucky (39:22)
Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yeah.

Best Limited series DTF St. Louis Biff. I think you had said a n a number of weeks ago that you what you were watching

Mr Fun (39:33)
I saw that.

Lucky (39:33)
that, right?

Biff (39:33)
No,

I've I've not watched it. That's one Jason Bateman, right? Was it good?

Mr Fun (39:36)
Yeah, I saw it. I saw it.

Lucky (39:38)
Was

that what'd you think?

Mr Fun (39:38)
Stran

strangely good. Good. It's definitely worth watching. Strangely good.

Biff (39:42)
Okay.

Lucky (39:42)
Okay.

Okay. And that yeah, so Hacks won some awards. The Beast in Me was the the best actor. Matt Matthew Reese, best actress. Sally Fields won an award. remarkably bright creatures, best actress there. And then Michael J. Fox got a best Bob Hope Humanitarian Award, which is pretty cool.

Mr Fun (40:02)
That is cool. What about that

Biff (40:03)
Yeah, first it's Parkinson's, right?

Mr Fun (40:05)
documentary on origami? It was on pay per view.

Lucky (40:08)
Paper pay per view. That's pretty good. Okay. This is what this is what knocked my socks off.

Mr Fun (40:16)
Wow.

Lucky (40:17)
what netw give me what network you think had the mo or platform had the most wins across the major Emmys categories?

Biff (40:24)
W I

Mr Fun (40:24)
If I had to

just guess I would say Netflix, but you're gonna tell me that's not true.

Biff (40:27)
I I well I know

Lucky (40:27)
Netflix.

Biff (40:28)
I know I thought it was Apple.

Lucky (40:30)
No, Netflix is number three with 16 awards. Apple took 29 awards. HBO

Biff (40:36)
Okay. So

Lucky (40:37)
Max had 21. Prime Video 10. Finally, a network TV. MBC with eight.

Biff (40:42)
Okay.

Lucky (40:43)
Peacock with seven. CBS five. Or I'm sorry, six. Disney, MGM, FX, NatGio, ABC, all the way down with only two awards.

Which is nuts. Like did network T V.

Biff (40:55)
So what what's what's happening

and well broadcast T V if you want to call that the ABC NBC C B S thing, right? So they I they they always come out with a listing of the top one hundred shows of the year and ninety seven of them are football games, right? They're

Lucky (41:08)
Yeah.

Biff (41:08)
they're they're and a lot of those are N N B C and the other Fox and things like that. So nobody watches scripted shows on the broadcast networks anymore. They go to the other networks, like you said, the streaming services or or something like that. So

I don't know, it's a changing dynamic. And, you know, I've had this discussion with a few people. You remember how you're, you know, cutting the cord, which was cutting the cable cord,

Lucky (41:29)
Yeah.

Biff (41:29)
you know, was supposed to save you money. I know I'm not saving money anymore. I just, you know, you're giving it all back in streaming services, internet connections, right? YouTube TV. It's expensive to watch T V these days. We put a lot of money.

Lucky (41:41)
Yeah. So

Mr Fun (41:42)
Yeah, I agree.

Lucky (41:43)
so do you think network TV ever changes their business model to get away from commercials? Like d do they do they go the way of the streaming services in in such a way that

Biff (41:54)
Well, they do. They have it. That's what Peacock is, right? CBS has

Lucky (41:57)
Yeah, I guess so.

Biff (41:58)
Paramount. I mean that they have it. They can't because the FCC rules won't allow them to do the swearing on over the air broadcasts if such a thing exists anymore.

Lucky (42:07)
Yeah.

Biff (42:07)
So they're gonna they're gonna be behind the eight ball, I think, in that in that regard.

Lucky (42:10)
Yeah.

Biff (42:11)
So

Lucky (42:11)
For the longest time I was not watching any shows or movies on Amazon because they they changed their policy and they basically you had to pay an extra fifty dollars a year to so you wouldn't have commercials. And like I was running out of things to watch on like Netflix and HBO Max. And so one night I'm laying there and I'm like, there's something I'd like to watch on on Amazon, and I just bit the bullet, paid the fifty bucks.

Biff (42:38)
Yeah, it it happens. But did you on a related note, did you see that Apple came out with the flip phone, right? The phone

Lucky (42:44)
Yeah.

Biff (42:45)
with with the double screen. Have you guys seen it? Did you look at any of the reviews

Lucky (42:48)
Now

Biff (42:49)
on it?

Mr Fun (42:48)
I haven't seen it.

Biff (42:49)
It's it's it's about the size of a passport. So it's short, but it's wide, if I can use that. And then it flips open. And their technology was, I guess if you have an Android and you have one of the Google phones or whatever, there's you can still see where the seam is in the middle.

This one they've gotten it so it's completely flat. So it's like an iPad mini, which is pretty cool. And then they

Mr Fun (43:10)
Yeah.

Biff (43:10)
have this mirror feature where you can, if it's on your outside of your phone, when you turn it so it shows up in the middle, you see where the page turns actually in the middle and opens it. But set that aside. Incredibly expensive. $2,000 for the base phone before you get where you start building up memory

on it.

Lucky (43:27)
Well, you don't

think that they're gonna do like that's the n that's the price now that people, you know, f first adopters are gonna use, but like once once, you know, they start making them, they're gonna try to get people and tice people in and I think the price on drugs.

Biff (43:40)
I mean that that that

might be the case. But what what will happen is that they'll keep the phone at let's call it just under two thousand dollars and it'll come with eight gigabytes, not sixty four gigabytes or whatever they they give you. And but you know, an Apple phone's pretty expensive right now, right?

Lucky (43:56)
Yeah.

Biff (43:57)
that the top quality iPhone's probably over eleven hundred bucks. You do they just

Lucky (44:00)
But they're giving away for free.

Biff (44:02)
No, they're not. They're charging you thirty five dollars a month. I mean they're not I mean, this is the you're you're you you sound like my family.

Free upgrade. I'm like, are you kidding me? You get a bill

Mr Fun (44:09)
Right. Right.

Biff (44:11)
for the next three years at $35 a month.

Mr Fun (44:13)
Yeah.

Lucky (44:14)
Okay. So with

with the flip phone though, okay, is Apple cannibalizing their like I don't want to say cannibalized maybe cannibalizing our product because the iPhone is everybody's used to just looking at one pane of of the phone. And are people you know, are people ri really gonna embrace the two panes?

Biff (44:35)
Well, no, I think they are they gonna cannibalize iPad mini? That's your question, I think, specifically. And I

Lucky (44:39)
Or an or or or an iPhone.

Biff (44:41)
Yeah, well they might. I mean they they well, it's a phone. You can use it as a phone, so I'm not sure they're gonna cannibalize it. They're just hoping there's gonna be substitution. I think they're willing to get rid of the I mean the IF if it kills mini sales, who cares? You know, they did that with they had iPods. They killed that with the phone, right?

Lucky (44:58)
Yeah.

Biff (44:59)
'Cause that's all it's become now. So I don't I think they've proven over time that though

Wherever the money is, they're gonna go after it.

Mr Fun (45:05)
I keep thinking that I have tapped out on my willingness to improve my phone or whatever. And then I eventually come. I'm never a first adapter. Never ever. But but fast or adapter. Adapter

Lucky (45:15)
First adopter.

Mr Fun (45:19)
or adopter. Yes. You know what?

It's so funny. I've asked other people, like, what's that thing when you're one of like the first people to use technology? And I still get it wrong. I still get it wrong.

Biff (45:30)
I'm I'd love to have a flip phone. I would. I would say that and and I was after reading the reviews and I I honestly hoped it was as I will show it, I have a small phone. Right? I'd like to have a small phone that that becomes larger. And the way they design it, it's just sort of weird 'cause it's wider at that point. So someday I'd like to have a flip phone. I will say that.

Lucky (45:50)
I know one

Mr Fun (45:50)
Okay.

Lucky (45:50)
person with a flip phone now. our friend Albi has a flip phone and he's

Biff (45:54)
huh. Yeah.

Lucky (45:56)
always always just bringing out like spreadsheets on it and stuff like that.

Biff (45:58)
Yeah.

Lucky (45:59)
I'm like, I don't care to look at spreadsheets on my phone. You know.

Biff (46:02)
Yeah, but if you

looked at websites, wa it changes the website game if you look up websites on your phone or anything on a mobile app. So I I've got a friend, we call G here at the at the beach. He's got one and it it's pretty impressive when when you can see it. So anyways.

Lucky (46:16)
All right.

Biff (46:16)
it's me. I forgot. It's it's me as I'm as as he's he's staring

Lucky (46:20)
Sorry, sorry.

Biff (46:21)
as as lucky as staring at me on the inside belt baseball. So I I ran into this story late early last week, which is a singer I had never heard of. I'm that's that's you know, I like to think I'm on top of things. it was a singer named Stella Lefty. Her real name, by the way, is Stella Lovovsky. And Stella Lefty, there her her infamy right now is that.

She is they she calls her first song was a song called Boston, and it was some they called it a pop country or country pop, whatever you want to use it. her father, by the way, is a billionaire. He's one of the founders of an AI company as well as Groupon, for anybody that's ever used Groupon. So

Lucky (46:59)
okay.

Biff (46:59)
she grew up okay. Stella, we don't have to cry for Stella here. but, anyways, she she has started you know performing and she had some hit songs in the Billboard Charts last in 2026.

2026, earlier this year. And again, I had never heard of her, Stella Lefty. she now has the nickname Stella Thefty, as people are calling her, is she is being known for plagiarizing other writers' songs. And the first

Lucky (47:24)
Yikes.

Biff (47:24)
one was this song Boston, which the fact is that it seemed to have the melody and structure of the Noah Khan song Stick Season, which you've heard the song Stick Season, I'm sure. This is the song of Evermont. And

So much so that they sued her. And what they've done now is they've given him writing credit. Meaning, so she produced the song, published the song, didn't have him as one of the writers, but after he challenged them, he's now in the writing credit. So she is effectively

Lucky (47:51)
Did he get any cash?

Biff (47:52)
see, I didn't I didn't read that anywhere. But the fact of the matter is that it proves that she took some liberties with other people's songs. So the other ones that are coming up is a song Summer You Were Mine.

interprets the Dixie Chicks, now called the Chicks song, There's Your Trouble, which the songwriters there have complained to her. They haven't changed anything yet. The album closing album's closing song when the album is called Long Way Home. The song Why Wouldn't We was described online as copying the melody and call-in-response lyrics from a Blake Shelton song, I'll Name the

Lucky (48:25)
Ja heiks.

Biff (48:25)
Dogs. She further faced accusations that the chorus in her song Misery.

Is musically similar to the chorus of a million dreams from the 2017 music movie musical The Greatest Showman. And then then the verses of her song 7, Eleven Years, nearly the same melody as Weedis's Teenage Dirtbag, which she has also covered. So she is a serial plagiarizer.

Mr Fun (48:46)
Wow.

Biff (48:47)
This girl, Stella Lefty. She's still a she's still selling concert tickets. I did see that online. Again, having never heard of her, seems to be popular if you search for her on Spotify or on

on Amazon, but it's an interesting thing about stealing music or sewing songs.

Lucky (49:01)
She well, she's a cover

she's singing she's almost like singing covers in a way.

Biff (49:05)
Yeah,

but she's she had not until challenge had not been giving them credit, which is

Lucky (49:09)
Cheers.

Biff (49:10)
a which is a dangerous thing in the in the music industry, I suppose, for her to do

Mr Fun (49:13)
Yeah, a music thief.

Biff (49:14)
the the music thief. So they

Lucky (49:15)
Yeah. Yeah.

Biff (49:16)
yeah, look it's a it's a it's a tough gig and and I I I look to our resident comedian here, you hear jokes and it's easy to to to to to use them, right? If if you read one. And and

Mr Fun (49:27)
Yeah, it's so hard. I mean, but you if

you're a joke stealer, you're you're a bad person. You really are.

Biff (49:31)
You're branded, right?

You can't make it on the circuit if you're a if if you're one that does that.

Mr Fun (49:35)
Yeah, there are some people

who will post them without date telling a joke. 'cause

Biff (49:40)
Yeah.

Mr Fun (49:40)
a lot of comedians record their own stuff. And so they'll they'll they'll they'll date it and then they'll show the comedian who stole it from And it's interesting.

Biff (49:48)
What would you do if if you went to one of your shows and somebody used a joke that was very similar

Mr Fun (49:53)
I think I would I

think I would say, dude, that's my joke and see where it goes.

Biff (49:57)
Right.

Mr Fun (49:57)
Yeah.

Biff (49:58)
And and but you 'cause you would have every show you've recorded, right? That you've done.

Mr Fun (50:02)
And all comedians

say the same thing. They're like, I wish I had come up with that. But you can't you can't do it. You just gotta leave

Biff (50:07)
Yeah. That's it.

Mr Fun (50:09)
it.

Biff (50:10)
What speaking of which, when's the next time you're going in front of a microphone?

Mr Fun (50:12)
It's a

November tw so next time I'm going I I I had a geek tonight. I forgot all about it. So I I blew that off for the the show. And I

Biff (50:20)
well thank you.

Mr Fun (50:20)
so probably next will Tuesday or Wednesday will be the next open mic. And I'll do open mics once or twice a week now that the summer's over. And then my competition is November twelfth at Giveahoot. Yeah.

Biff (50:33)
Nov November twelfth. And I will start

promoting that on the site. November twelfth at Git Give a Hoot in Gathersburg, Maryland. Okay.

Mr Fun (50:39)
Yeah, that's great. That's great. You gotta pay a couple

of bucks to come in. I think it's twenty bucks. What was it, Lucky? The twenty bucks? Fifteen bucks. Yeah. Goes to a good

Lucky (50:44)
Yeah, it was like I think I paid fifteen bucks to see the last time. Maybe.

Biff (50:47)
that's awesome.

Mr Fun (50:48)
cause. Have a lot of it goes to charity.

Lucky (50:50)
Maybe you can leave tickets at the door for us.

Mr Fun (50:52)
Yeah, I could try yeah, I'll pay for my crowd. I'll pay for my crowd to come. That'd be great.

Biff (50:53)
Yeah.

Mr Fun (50:56)
Yeah.

Lucky (50:57)
All right, you guys know I'm a big Guinness Book of Worlds Records. you know, I've like follow all the new records and that kind thing. So they just released the book for 2027, the Guinness Book of you know, the actual book with a bunch of new world records in it.

Biff (51:14)
Uh-huh.

Lucky (51:14)
And I this year what they did was they mark besides like the the tried and true ones, they also

advertise, hey, you know, we we we want to, you know, get people doing some really interesting get us, you know, break some records. So they these are some of the things in the 2027 book which were interesting. Youngest yoga instructor, five years old, most t tattooed person, narrowest drivable car, largest hairdryer, a five foot, three inch tall hairdryer. most decimal digits memorized underwater.

Things like so these are the kooky things that have been entered. And I really wanted to congratulate Biff because he finally is gonna be in the book. He's his largest collection of of the My Little Pony memorabilia, forty four

Mr Fun (52:00)
Yes.

Lucky (52:00)
thousand five hundred and fifty pieces of My Little Pony memorabilia. Congratulations for for making it for making it.

Mr Fun (52:05)
It's incredible. I've never seen anything like it. I've never seen anything

Biff (52:07)
Yeah. Yeah,

Mr Fun (52:09)
like it.

Biff (52:10)
that's exactly. Well that's that's good news. So I used to love the Guinness Book of World Records. I know lucky three years ago I think we bought you one for one of our

Lucky (52:16)
Yes.

Biff (52:17)
holiday gifts. So I will look

Mr Fun (52:18)
Yeah.

Biff (52:19)
forward to to to hearing more incredible stats that you you will provide us. speaking of incredible, we had a whole debate about incredible phenomenal, extraordinary. Mr. Fun, do you have a joke? That's that's one of those th go go go ahead.

Mr Fun (52:31)
I do. I do. It's actually a story. It's a story. When I

was a teenager, by the way, earmuffs on for the little kids here. But when I was a teenager, somebody told me that it's incredible, extraordinary to have oral sex in a pool. But I was scared because I had never had my head underwater before.

Biff (52:50)
my gosh. That's that's so good. So

all right.

Lucky (52:52)
Okay.

Biff (52:53)
How did they get a hold of us, Walkie?

Lucky (52:54)
Contact at lastsmartly dot com. that email is for accolades, things you liked, and if you don't like things, i.e. Mr. Fun's jokes, you can also complain there.

Biff (53:06)
Good.

Mr Fun (53:06)
And now

we're off to football after that joke.

Biff (53:10)
I think we've already cut that before we got to football. So anyways, good to see you guys.
